On this Dreamwalk, a Dead God will call forth an enemy he had in life to do battle. The Dead God (or Gods, in this case) will carry on their mythical conflict into the Dreamworld, and they may choose to bring allies, who will most likely be followers. At least one of the Shades called forth in this Dreamwalk must represent some mythical enemy of the Dead God; if the Dead God comes from real world mythology, then the enemy should come from the same mythology. For example, Ra might battle Apophis, Osiris battles Set, Marduk battles Tiamat, Thor battles Loki, etc. If the Dead God comes from a made-up mythology, then that player will have to make up an enemy from his/her mythology (which provides a great opportunity for imagining and expanding that character's story within the Dreaming). This is a Dreamwalk especially for Dead Gods who feel that having a sworn enemy to fight is good for their sense of purpose.

Requirements:

At least two people, one of whom must be a Dead God. Everyone needs boffer weapons. You will require an area to do battle, as well as a respawn point. This respawn point should, if possible, somehow resemble an altar to the Dead God's enemy, even if it's just a piece of paper with a symbol or name taped to a chair.

Props (optional): Something to represent the enemy God's altar that no one will mind being destroyed. A cardboard box with designs drawn on would probably serve well for this.

Guides: 1/2 of the players on this Dreamwalk, rounded down, will be the Guides. They will end up taking on the role of the Enemy God and his/her followers.

Leader: The Dead God whose enemy is about to be fought is, by default, the Leader of this Dreamwalk (although this doesn't mean much if only two people are playing; it's only relevant if the Dead God brings followers to fight alongside him/her).

Scene 1: The Battle

The Dead God must set up their altar somewhere on the battlefield, while the Guide goes off to set up the enemy God's altar about 20-30 feet away. If the Dead God has brought followers, he should bless them at the altar while explaining to them whom they are about to fight. If they wish, this is a time for the Dead God to do some storytelling about their mythology to provide some background and make the battle seem more meaningful. Once the altars are set up and the blessings given, the Guide(s) will be sent off as a messenger(s). If there is more than one Guide, one will return as the Dead God's enemy, and any others will be his/her followers.

Scene 2: Converting the followers

Once the Enemy God has been defeated, the Guide(s) returns as a noncombatant follower of the defeated enemy. They will assist the Dead God who is the Leader of this Dreamwalk (along with any allies the Leader brought with them) in symbolically destroying the Enemy God's altar. Deface the symbol, scribble out the Enemy's name and write the Leader's, destroy the prop (ONLY if it is a nonvaluable prop brought along specifically to be destroyed, and doing so won’t disturb the Dreaming!), whatever. The Leader then leads everyone at the destroyed altar in a prayer to finalize his Enemy's defeat.
