Today my new boss told me about his neighbor.

Who sits out under blankets in November and deep fries turkeys in a kettle on his front lawn for Thanksgiving, drinking beers and setting foliage on fire with his flame-thrower. Just because he knows it irritates, yet amuses, his neighbors.

I think that's a much better method, really.

News flash:  My Father-in-Law does this all the time, when he comes back from hunting, and has bagged a deer.

Also, fish are animals.  Who hasn't gutted a fish before?  You don't really want to do it inside; the guts stink.

Thats nothing.  Try fileting a skunk.  It's better to do it after the F-150 has killed it.

I think Lamanite was thinking about less common things to eat, like raccoon or possum.

Or your neighbor's cat.

Maybe, but his lack of specificity, plus the general non-existence of hunting licenses for cats, make his post.... suspect.

How bout Moose.  We've got hunting licenses for them up here.  Now someone gutting a Moose on their front lawn, that would be a spectacle.  You'd have quite a crowd cheering you on too.

Of course, for the sake of this post, rural communities don't exist.

Hunting licence?  I've heard of folk making due with a driver's licence and some good (?) timing.  (A car they don't mid getting scrapped might not hurt either.)
(A former teacher of mine hit one, and was asked if he wanted the meat before they could even free him from the car.)

they do that here any time there's a car-deer accident. saves Animal Control a 45-minute drive if they don't have to come remove the carcass from the road.

Maybe I expected more out of the members of this forum to make the right conclusions.

Maybe slaughtering a deer is taboo to some culture other than your own.

Maybe slaughtering a cow is taboo to some other culture, but I listed beef anyways.

What's the proper term for deer meat anyways?

There's a reason people don't want their picture taken when they hack up a seal in thier drive way.

Venison.

And if you want to break taboos, slaughtering animals seems like a lot of work.

Wouldn't it just be easier to hang a sign in the yard that says, "kill the pope"?

There's a reason certain foods are taboo to you. Have you ever tried to find those reasons?

This is the correct motorcycle.
