I said CAN spread viruses.   To clarify, 000 hit me with something designed to overload my CPU, thus affecting voltage, on a system that already has cooling issues.
Being exposed to something potentially physically damaging to my PC, as a result of being here, is not acceptable.

It's unethical, and I'm confident it's illegal.    Opinions may vary on this, but in a court of law (which most likely would never happen from me) I think CRASHING PC's over the internet would be a punishable offense.

Regardless, it's a high price to pay, just to participate in a larger online community.


I didn't claim you deleted my posts.  I suspected someone may have.  I found the post on the other acct, and stated everything I knew, every step of the way.

"Everyone" took me a while to see how careful one should be with this word.   At any point I've made broad statements like this, I've been directing it at particular people.  Now I just word it better.  Same case here.  A few people.

The only issue here is abuse of mod powers, and I don't think Browser Bombs should be aloud.  Now if imagebombing is disallowed, STATE THE FUCKING RULE, and apply it EQUALLY to the community as a whole, not just if you're a mod, and someone you know has a tiff with someone you don't like.

Now if the mods want to make rules about flashing images, because members of the site are epileptic, FINE.   But no such rule exist, and whether Nigel likes it or not, I don't pay attention to her personal problems, and before this occurence, haven't considered whether one of my posts could affect an epileptic, let alone whether this is my problem or not.  It doesn't even have to be a rule.  If she had approached me in any other way that she did, I would have apologized and been careful with flashing images in future.  In fact, I AM more careful now with flashy images.  Now I've thought about it.   I just don't care about Nigel's feelings anymore than she does mine.   

CRASHING PCs should not be condoned period.

My position should be pretty clear here.   I do much more lurking here, and much less posting these days.  I didn't like finding a ban threat in my box today, and I don't feel like dragging this on.    I have better things to do than deal with this kind of situation.

Nigel praises another board member for his flashy images a couple days later, but accuses me publicly of "fucking with her epilepsy on purpose".

Was this other person's image a half page or more of animation?

And now, just to prove their little clique is hard at work, TGRR is making threats to ban me from the board.

It has nothing to do with a clique.  It has to do with you trying to slow down/crash the board.  It also has to do with you attacking Faust's paperwork in your zeal.

Now since there are QUITE a few other members of the board to imagebomb whenever the fuck they feel like it (again, SATIRE anyone?)...

It's also obvious that you either ARE lying, or don't understand anything about bandwidth, and yes I suspect it's the first.

You can not claim you'd mod someone else's post the same way, because as I mentioned, it's NOT a bandwidth issue.  You yourself have no problem posting 700k+ images (and animated sigs).  My animated imagebombs did NOT affect bandwidth significantly, and rival comparisons in size have not warranted BAN THREATS.  

Just admit you did this because you're friend swith Nigel, and you saw an opportunity to use your mod powers.

I didn't expect anyone to WANT to see that shit anyway, but I was willing to play it out.

okay, i just need to step in here because i feel we're arguing about some non-existent issue.

i don't wanna take sides here, but the bandwidth issue is viewed incorrect. TGRR probably doesnt know this, i guess, but in (nearly) all browsers, images are cached. that means, it doesn't matter how many times an image is posted, a browser will only request it *once*.

so regardless of how many times an emoticon is posted on a page, be it once in regular usage or 500 times as an imagebomb, it's going to cost the server 29k just once.

(this is exactly the reason why Aini and I developed the ?-trick, detailed in some old post in the O:MF subforum, to circumvent this behaviour and build proper effective imagebombs that eat both up bandwidth and browser memory by the megabyte)
