I wouldn't be surprised if you converted from a literalist religion, because you still have the same problem. That's the thing about language, it's not always clear and simple. Hell, in my experiences it is rarely clear and simple. For whatever reason you seem to think that only your interpretation is the only right one. It doesn't work that way asshole. Especially for something filled with metaphorical language like the PD (or our own BIP, loved it by the way).
You want to know what I think about the PD? I think it's full of shit. I think it's purposely full of shit. I think that it mocks dogmatic thinking by making it even more ridiculous than what we're used to. If the PD has a point, it's simple, think. That's it, just think. Don't trap yourself into following the thoughts of others, evaluate them for yourself. This is also why I think the BIP is important, it expands on that theme. Instead of constantly judging from the same perspective, force yourself to alter your mode of thought once in a way. Break out of your prison, sure, you're in another cell, but that cell gives you new insights. This is a positive thing, but it's not easy. Not like sitting in your parent's basement, smoking weed and babbling about Cartesiaanne Dualityism.
