...

I'm all for letting anyone be here until they prove they are a problem.

I mean TFY,S! right?

Sure.  Let them purge their board of Discordians because they're Discordians, and then just waltz right in with a big fake smile.  Why not?

We can be like the Amish.   :lulz:

I invited Wyldkat here, not thinking about the quid pro quo rule.

I also suggested she intro in a separate thread so as not to fill up the intro thread with the responses, since her facing a likely ban means her intro is more controversial than most.

BH, I'm okay with both of these things.

I'm just not okay with her.

It wasn't quite everything.  I'm still wondering why you're an admin there.  I mean, the way you put it, you can't act how you'd like to at the board you're adminning for.

That means either you support the board and aren't being on the level with us here about that.

Or you're compromising the way you'd like to behave in order to gain a bit of power, and if I'm reading right, the title of "Elder."

I mean, fuck, welcome to PD and all.  Pool's on the roof, etcetera, but I think you're getting off on the wrong foot by deliberately stating that you have an agenda here other than as a member.
EoC, you are the bane of my existence.

2.  If you can't be yourself as an admin at your forum, it sounds to me like you probably shouldn't be an admin.  Why the hell would you want to admin for a place where you need to compromise what you think is right to do what they demand of you.  Either you're bullshitting us about that and you fit right in there, or you should probably step down and let someone who actually believes in their nonsense do it so that you can "be yourself."

THIS.

Yes, it is a pagan board, but all faiths are welcome to join.

:lulz:

Yes, everyone is welcome to join, and Discordians are free to stay in TU or get IP banned.

Original snub, indeed.

I've been told I have a chance to speak my piece before I get IP banned just because I'm an admin at TCC.

Let's examine this, shall we?

I've been told I have no chance to speak my piece before I get IP banned just because I'm a Discordian.

Not feeling terribly sympathetic, here.  I'm going to go on public record as saying the only reason I HAVEN'T hit the ban button is that I am personally involved, so I have recused myself pending ECH's decision, or the rest of the mods agree that you go.  The rule is pretty clear cut...If you are a mod/admin at a board that bans Discordians en masse, you get banned here.

Looking forward to this,
Roger, aka Dok.

I've stood up for the Discordians there.  I have never been involved in a ban on someone because they were a Discordian.   Banning is done by majority vote at TCC.  There are still Discordians there.

And Roger, thank you for stepping back, I appreciate it.

I'm not here for TCC.  Honestly they would probably prefer I not be here.  I'm here because I liked some of the threads and wanted to participate.  And EBS would/will probably die of shock when/if he finds out about me being here.

The only reason I brought TCC up at all is because people know me from there and I didn't want to come here pretending to be anything I wasn't.

I posted this thread with the full knowledge I was very likely throwing myself to the wolves.  I could have just kept ghosting, but I wanted to participate.

What I can't talk about is stuff in the mod threads at TCC because that would be breaking a trust which won't do.  Nothing sneaky, just didn't want anyone to think that I would spread that stuff around.

I posted this thread because I had a feeling it would become an issue and mucking up the intro thread seemed sort of rude.

anal? retentive at times I suppose...

I THINK I got everything...  People keep posting more.

A nice introduction, and a level, mature response to what you've been accused of.  I've been only occasionaly involved with pagan boards, so I don't know your work over there.  The opinions of my friends here is fairly damning though.

Protesting that you never personally banned someone for being a Discordian is little consolation.  If this was going on, you were mod, and "stood up for Discordians" there, why not make it right?  I can accept that the other mods would be reluctant to reverse themselves, but you chose to stay with them.

You are judged by the company you keep, and even more by the company you support.  You may have never personally pulled a trigger, pushed a button, poured the chemicals, or brought down the hammer, but it doesn't seem you had the character to stop them from doing so, or refuse to participate in their methods either.  The indifference of someone who knows better is more repelant than the act of someone commiting wrong in ignorance.

You might ask yourself who I am to say this, and if I'd have the sand to do so myself.  Well, I have, and I hope to have sand enough to do so again when needed.

What Richter said.

Also, it's a religious thing.  Original snub, and all.

This is a direct parallel.

What I really want to know is if ninja editing has been banned, and if Firetard has been on the receiving end of some yelling for doing it at all (I don't expect so, based on who it was done to and the fact that none of you seem to have a shred of integrity. I also don't buy the "breaking of trust" thing, if you can't tell).

So has it?

I can say that it was brought up to the admin.  I can also say that I personally don't agree with ninja editing.  Anything else is stuff that's on the mod board.  I'm sorry I can't say more.
Why can't you give a yes or no? Because I can't think of a single legitimate reason why you can't tell me.

The reason I am not saying more is because the discussion went on in the mod forum and was not posted elsewhere.

As to the several comments about me not taking a stand, I rather wish I could show you some of the stuff in the admin forums as proof.  You can believe me or not, your choice.  I know what I've done.

THIS.

I have been at TCC since nearly the time it was founded.  My writing is on the main site.  I stay there and keep doing what I feel is right because I feel it is right and want to make sure my opinion is heard even if I am not in the majority all the time.  If nothing else it provides some kind of balance having people on the extremes working together in one group.

There are personality issues everywhere in life.  It's the personalities that make me want to have someplace else to go every so often.  What is wrong with wanting someplace to hang out where I know there are people I like who can hold intelligent conversations and where I can not have to worry about the admin end of things?

Yes, it is a pagan board, but all faiths are welcome to join.

As I said there are still Discordians there and you can be a Discordian and not get banned or end up in TU.

Richter, it's not an issue of not standing up for people or of indifference.  I've tried to explain that.  I could leave, I've been tempted to leave several times, but I haven't because I feel that being there and voicing my stance is better than that stance not being heard.  If it is leave and lose that voice or stay and fight to keep it I choose latter.  I choose to judge people for themselves rather than for the company they keep, I might not be perfect at it all the time, no one is, but I truly try not to box people in that way.

Voices are nice and sure can sound pretty, but unless there's some meat to back that up, some tangible effect that at the very least exhausts you in in your effort to come to a personally satisfying conclusion, what is the point aside from fear of real, actual change?

I guess this question goes for paganism generally too.

Hasn't seemed to do you any good.  The board is dead, Mike and Hardy are throwing people off as fast as they can, and you are part of that system.  Kardia directly endorsed their shithead behavior.

If seniority in a situation like that means anything to you, I pity you.

:lulz: Lots of weak rationalizing of why she upholds a system she claims to disagree with.

Man, I don't WANT to murder babies, but I have to keep doing it because I'm told to, right? If I quit murdering babies, then NOBODY will complain about having to murder babies all the time. It's either stay and fight to be allowed to quit murdering babies, or walk away.

What we have here, folks, is an attempt to justify moral corruption.

Also, "I've been there since the beginning" sounds like an abuse victim. "I can't leave him; I've been with him too long".

Get a spine.
