I signed the 'kick out TX' petition, as well as the 'strip everyone who signed the secession petitions of their citizenship' petition.

Also, factor into your percentage the number of people from outside Texas that just want them fucking gone so we can get a little peace and quiet.

there's currently over 72k on the TX one. scrolling through, most seem to be from here, but there's a good number of out of state votes, too.
the next highest one, Louisiana, seems to have a higher percentage of out of state signatures from a quick perusal.

i think it's hilarious, and i am saddened that none of my friends support this asshattery as i do....
i am further saddened that several in my family do.  but they're SRS....

assuming we can keep the current rate up for a few days, and then allow for more stragglers to settle in until the Dec 9 deadline, we'll have several hundred thousand.
now, that's a far cry from 12.9 million, but if we can convince them to screech LOUD enough, then the threshold for 50% of the population will surely shrink rapidly as all the non-true Texans tuck their tails and run back to whatever librul cesspool they crawled here from.
add to that the spontaneous efforts of true patriots such as you and your backhoe, and i'll be sailing the great state of TX into the gulf in no time flat!

Or maybe the solution is simply to give Texas and other secessionist-conservatives what they really want: free passage to the land of all their conservative fantasies. Send them all off with gratis one-way tickets (I’m happy to earmark some of my socialist tax dollars for the effort) to a country with: a small federal government with limited power and meager influence over the private lives of its citizens; extremely weak trade unions routinely sabotaged by the federal government (i.e., a “pro-business environment”); negligible income tax; few immigrants, legal or otherwise; a dominant Christian population, accounting for some 70 percent of the people; no mandatory health insurance or concept of universal health care; a strong social taboo surrounding homosexuality and a constitution that already states, “All individuals have the right to marry a person of their choice of the opposite sex”; and a gun culture so ubiquitous that you can find automatic weaponry displayed openly on the streets of its capital city and in many households.
 
Sound like a Texan secessionist’s dream? Well, it’s no dream. This country already exists. It’s called the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

I was just reading an article on Uganda's homophobia in action.  The first thing I thought of was "man, this is a tea bagger's wet dream."  It's funny to see someone else make a similar connection.

Nobody's going anywhere or seceding with anything.

But enjoy the frothy butthurt while it lasts.  In about 4-5 weeks, depression will settle in on the GOP, and shit won't be half as funny.

I say 4-5 weeks, because that's when they'll realize the "fiscal cliff" is the only bullet left in their gun, and it's aimed at their own bits.

And that's the beauty of the last week, and the next few weeks.  32 million teabaggers are finally being FORCED to see the world the way it really is, and their pain associated with that is delicious.

Hell, the companies that started laying people off on the 8th are all now in a world of hurt.

Papa John's Pizza, for example, is being hit with a court case (illegal text advertising) so hard that their stock price is in free fall.  Krogers is suddenly wondering where all their business volume went.  Etc.
