Also shocking: drinking enough to pass out does not necessarily lead to good decision making, and may result in things like...trespassing, arguing with police, being arrested, getting kicked out of the college you're studying at, getting your student visa revoked and having to go back home to Colombia.

So shocked. I would never have guessed. Gasp.

Westboro Baptist Church reps showed up at UC to protest. It was made out to be a huuuuge deal.

There were 3 of them... 3 protesters.

There were more cops and medics on the scene than actual Westboro Baptist Church reps. And the bastards are literally standing in a giant fenced-in circle to keep everyone away.

Not only are they completely shit people, but they are also shit at standing up for their terrible values - That, or most of them got scared off because hate-speech supporters have been despised by the media recently.

Either way, the event and its participators weren't even worthy of a baseball bat, nor was it safe enough to get away with bringing one. All in all, they are the worst disappointment in the history of disappointments. Not because they were a big disappointment, but because the disappointment itself was so small and insignificant.

I'm a scientist from Area 52 (Area 51 was used to draw attention from Area 52, where the aliens were ACTUALLY stored) who was working on neural interfacing with networked devices. In an experiment gone wrong, I accidentally uploaded my mind to the internet. In the 2 seconds I had before my mind scrambled itself with the world's network traffic, I was able to store this snippet in this random internet signature. WBC has been getting two or three people to show up for most of their events in the last couple years. When they went to Aaron Swartz's funeral it was only two of them. At full strength I think they get fifteen people these days? Getting people to punch them has always been the goal, they're not like the alt-right fuckbags.

Don't get me wrong, still fuckbags.

They want the punch. Which is precisely why they shouldn't get the punch.

People saying the poor meteorologists are being forced to stand in the storm don't know that many meteorologists.  They were itching to go stand in it.  That's their thing.  They're well aware of stuff that can hit them, they don't care.

*edit*  pronoun fix, I'm not a met.

Now I can't help but imagine a meteorologist who can't wait till hurricane season because standing in hurricanes is their fetish.

Found out my shitty Mexican Conservative cousin has a shitty conservative podcast, which I could tolerate if not for the fact that he is apparently mentioning my sister by name.

Someone should tell this guy that HAARP is operated by the University of Alaska now.

Though Alaska smiting Florida is a pretty amusing idea.

Being a stormchaser used to be my dream. I wanted to be a meteorologist as a kid so I could drive into tornadoes. I've never been even the slightest bit afraid of them, for reasons I'll never understand. And I'm supremely jealous of people who've had a chance to be in a hurricane.

I accidentally made a slow cousin of mine cry during hurricane Katrina. She lived in Orlando at the time, and my side of the family called her to talk her through it. I was just amazed, and trying to imagine myself being there, and I was talking to her on the phone like "DUDE, THE HURRICANE IS RIGHT OVER TOP OF YOU. IT'S LIKE, RIGHT THERE." But I meant it like "I WANNA BE YOU SO BAD RIGHT NOW WHAT THE FUCK." Obviously, she took it more like "DANGER DANGER DANGER."

I felt really bad, but I didn't really know any better because I was younger.

Anyways, I'd wanna chase tornadoes and stand in hurricanes as a hobby once I made enough money.
