NaNoWriMo - For those who can't stand free time!
« on: October 22, 2003, 03:47:20 pm »
Just signed up for this myself, and though some folks over here might be interested:

National Novel Writers Month!
http://www.NaNoWriMo.org

What: Writing one 50,000-word novel from scratch in a month's time.

Who: You! We can't do this unless we have some other people trying it as well. Let's write laughably awful yet lengthy prose together.

Why: The reasons are endless! To actively participate in one of our era's most enchanting art forms! To write without having to obsess over quality. To be able to make obscure references to passages from your novel at parties. To be able to mock real novelists who dawdle on and on, taking far longer than 30 days to produce their work.

When: Writing begins November 1, 2003. To be added to the official list of winners, you must reach the 50,000-word mark by November 30 at midnight. Once your novel has been verified by our web-based team of robotic word counters, the partying begins.

Q: How serious are you about this whole "Discordian" thing?
A: A blue fish Tuesday!
Q: No really, it this, like, deeply philosphical, or just a huge joke?
A: Yes.

That's October 30! You must have the novel written by November 30.
Vielleicht sollst du nicht wissen.

Check the FAQ's! You can sign up any time before the final word count is due. Of course, you probably want to start writing Nov 1, whether you signed up or not.

And the Lard said, "Let the really bad writing begin!"

just like in a dream
you'll open your mouth to scream
and you won't make a sound

you can't believe your eyes
you can't believe your ears
you can't believe your friends
you can't believe you're here

How about we just take a bunch of silly writings from this forum and turn it into a discordiam manuscript?

Dead simple... and we could do it in a week...

now... deciding on a name could take a while

the book of: crap entry to a writing competition?

The Lake macquarie scrolls?
