i have had four stuck in my head today.....
David Bowie - Young Americian
Julie Brown - Big and Stupid
Some song from earth girls are easy (yes i watched it last night)
and
Ben Folds Five - Rockin the Suburbs
continue on....
Earworm is the worst.
ALWAYS, I WANT TO BE WITH YOU
AND MAKE BELIEVE WITH YOU
AND LIVE IN HARMONY
HARMONY
also. Tetris theme 1 and Mega Man 2, Crash man level, and Ninja Gaiden 2 intro theme are always stuck in my head.
ALWAYS.
Crash man, fuck yeah.
Iptuous, have you seen this?

you fucking basterd!!!
BASTARD IN LUH-UVE
THERE'S NO TURNING BACK
PUNISH YOUR LOVER
AND THEN TURN YOUR BACK
PUNISH YOUR FUTURE
TO SPITE YOUR PAST
LOVE TURNS TO HATE
WITH EVERY SPELL YOU CAST
YOU KEEP WAITING FOR THE LOVE THAT YOU WANNA FEEL
BUT YOU NEVER BELIEVE THEM WHEN THEY TELL YOU THAT LOVE IS REAL
YOU KEEP WISHING BUT
MY LOVE IS REAL!
MY LOVE IS REAL!
MY LOVE IS REAL!
If you can remember how these songs end it may help break the loop.
Ok, I know this is Apple Talk, but... Really? A "songs stuck in your head" thread?
Really?

You know what's awesome about threads everybody doesn't like is that nobody posts in them and then they go away.
Unless people do like them, in which case they post in them and the thread doesn't go away.
Like all the gaming threads. What is up with that? I guess people like them or something.
It could be worse? Remember "Film Flam? :x That thread ruined my LIFE.
http://s0.ilike.com/play#Cake:Comfort+Eagle:43654:s672810.8107525.7359514.0.1.65%2Cstd_3bcace30796b552c1607c65e12417984
Sorry, I forgot I'm not allowed to share my feelings.
Guess I'll just push it deep down inside, and never mention it again.
PS- I'm walking on sunshine, and it's starting to feel good.
Heh, I never had any problem with pointless threads as long as there's other content too.
Yeah, I know I'm in the minority here. Obviously.
Oh, no, I hate this thread too. Totally with you on that.
i make pointless thread to cheer myself and maybe other people up with junk food for the brain. it might stir other types of dialogue. I will stop and go back to my studies on how were all slowly dying and killing ourselves and can't even save anything because our replacement level is to low.
It really doesn't bother me, as long as it's not named Film Flam. Because that thread ruined my life.
I've just noticed a lot of complaints lately about the proliferation of pointless fluff threads, and my perspective is that the complaints are not only more annoying than the threads, but also they keep the threads going. If people are interested/having fun in a thread, it will survive. If they're not, it will die and sink to the bottom. The "ZOMG I hate this pointless fluff thread!" posts are every bit as pointless and fluffy as an "OMG I have a zit!" post or a "What's Stuck To The Bottom Of Your Shoe?" thread.
I hate a lot of threads, so don't take my hatred of this particular one personally. For example, I hate almost all the threads about music, games or television, and most of the threads in the politics subforum. But there's not really a point to trying to control what people feel like talking about when you can just mark it read and move on. Nobody's going to force me to talk about politics, but I like to talk about art. Nobody's going to force you to talk about games, but you like to talk about music. Seems fair to me.
Whenever I see a thread I dislike/am uninterested in or see people complaining about threads they dislike/etc. my first impulse is to create some propaganda or write something to counterbalance.
However, I do also appreciate people bitching about shit they don't like as it keeps things interesting, IMO.
I like reading meaningless bullshit occasionally to balance the all too meaningful stuff I think about the rest of the time.

THIS. I mean, I guess I could waste my time blogging on the blagosphere instead of hanging here. My life is NOT sunshine and roses 169% of the time, sometimes yukking it up is just, yukking it up.
...and can someone PLEASE explain to me WTF Apple Talk is for, if not for pointless shit (sometimes)? Isn't that in the description?
It's too bad there isn't a way to choose/ignore which forums you want to have show on your newscan.

I know it sounds funny but I just can't stand the pain.
Thread, I'm leaving you tomorrow!
I think the thing that did it for me is that this thread could have easily been posted in the Bodega (aka Fecebook), as "OMG, I have the Monchichi jingle stuck in my head!" or something like that. Something to be commented on in passing. By making it a separate thread topic, you more-or-less designate it as something important enough to you that you need to announce it in a special way.
"OK LMNO," you say, "we get it. You're a pedantic fuckhead who's obsessed with semantics and is overly territorial about a fucking internet forum." Well, sure. And I know that the easiest way to let something die is to ignore it and not post.
But not posting how you feel is unspoken permission for it to continue. Let's say that I ignored this "earworm" thread. Then I ignore the "tell us what's stuck to the bottom of your shoe" thread. Then I ignore the "what's in your pocket?" thread (unless Richter is the only one posting. The shit he carries around is usually pretty interesting). Then I ignore the "what's the thread count of your sheets?" thread.
See, while ignoring a thread may make that individual thread drift down, it tacitly allows that kind of thread to propogate. Which I find to be more of a problem, really. A handful of fluff threads are fine, and usually have enough thread drift to keep it mildly entertaining. But reams and reams of fluff threads means that thread drift doesn't happen as often; and what I like about a good fluff thread is the way the topic can wander all over the place, and may actually reveal something creative and interesting and new.
A good conversation can stretch to encompass all of human existence even if it starts out about what kind of tea you like. But that conversation has to endure. It can't just be a few back and forths, and then off to the next topic. It needs to evolve, to develop it's own rhythms, and track out a meandering direction of it's own. It has to rub shoulders internally against non-sequitors and gear shifts, and the sparks that come from the friction can birth new ideas. If there are too many separate narratives to keep track of, the potential for creativity plunges.
Yeah. So. I've said my piece, and I'll shut up for now... But knowing me, I'll be commenting on this sort of thing again eventually.

Apple Talk sucks. Apple Talk has always sucked. It will continue sucking for the foreseeable future. You will get over it.
Complaining about Apple Talk is like complaining about Tucson...everyone already knows, and you're just gonna get more powdered poop in your mouth while you're saying it.
I have seen shit on this forum over the last couple of years that is way stupider than this thread.
And, take note if you give a shit; if there was less retarded fluff on this forum, I would probably not feel compelled to post any of my creative writing here, ever. Maybe fluff isn't such a terrible thing. Also, fuck you Kai.

I have been distressed by this sort of shit dozens of times. But I've come to learn that you can't force the good shit. It will happen when it happens, and you need to just enjoy it while it's there.
It occurs to me that this attitude applies outside of PD, as well.

Fair enough. I'm busy trying to learn how to use FLstudio, myself.
My only beef is that the fluff threads should be confined to apple talk (with the exception of threads concerning food).
Advice to the mods/admins who are still bitching bout this (because you are REALLY not alone here, LMNO):
IF YOU WANT REALLY FOR REAL TOPIX ONLY IN APPLE TALK, then change the description of the subforum.
But blaming people for spooging it up with personal spam is just bludgeoning your head against the inevitable. And I've also heard EVERYONE of you say--Hey, you don't like it, take a walk, Buddy.
Doktor Howl is right, all my threads turn into giant mushroom clouds. And that's just the bullshit to move my mind away from my work with my school which is DOOM DOOM DOOM.
now to go read an article called: WAR IS A FORCE THAT GIVES US MEANING.

This
Plus games threads
plus bumping of old stupid threads
But this isn't really about banal threads, it's about
entitlement. MY banal threads are interesting, but YOUR banal threads are boring, and I wanted you to give me something that was interesting to ME.
Because I deserve it.Bitching about fluff in Apple Talk = going to a sushi joint and being pissed that most of the menu contains fish. I mean, really, if you want content, don't bitch about other people not giving you what you want. That's like going to a gallery and bitching because none of the art is what
you would make,
if you made art. Because you
deserve it. Instead, shut the fuck up and go create some. When someone starts something interesting on the board, people get be too engaged in it to get so bored that they post fluff.
Also, the "real content" being posted in Apple Talk started out as an accident and, IMO, is not a trend that should be encouraged because it makes the good shit hard to find later on.
And don't try to tell me that WOMP is "content". It's fucking hilarious goofing off and I love the shit out of it, but if pasting someone's face onto a lobster is "content" I'm going to give up. On everything.
