News:

Several times a month, I will be in a store aisle reaching for something and feel a hand going up the inside of my thigh. When I turn around to find myself alone with a woman, and ask her if she would prefer me to hold still so she can get a better feel for the situation, oftentimes she will act "shocked" claiming nothing had happened, it must be somebody else...

Ah, cool thread.

A feel good thread is always nice around here.

You're an awesome person Freeky. You're  always cool to talk to, and you've got a lot of strength in ya. Not sure if makes any difference, but you've got my everlasting respect.  :D

QuoteWait, why is this specifically something that "shouldn't be shut down"?

It's one of those things I think is going to prove really useful in the long run. If there are other things out there, it'd be kind of nice to know they exist. In case they turn out to be dangerous, we're prepared, if they're peaceful we can deal. Thought given humanity's track record, I'd probably guess we'd try to kill them at the first opportunity.

Along with that look at the article. They're not just looking for lifeforms. They're also finding inhabitable planets.

Sorry about the Terrible Old Man, Roger.

I'm glad you got to talk to him before. I think it's better if you have that chance.

Will make sure to raise a glass or some hell in honor of him tonight.

QuoteLink?

Those bastards. One of the things that really should be kept alive and kicking, but instead it gets shut down.

SETI doesn't receive public funding and hasn't since 94, due to a Democrat cutting it out of the budget.  I'm all for bashing stupid budget cuts to good science programs, but this has nothing to do with the Teabaggers.

The folks who donate the money to SETI are getting the budget cuts. So they're giving less to SETI.

EDIT: This is just a guess on my part, not a fact.

Sorry about your Grandfather, Roger.  That really, really, sucks.

Also, come back soon, Requia. What you did is almost unforgivable, and merits one hell of an ass kicking. So come back soon.

Damn...really sucks.

QuoteThat the one with the $10,000 scholarship?  They had it around when I was in high school.

Yeah, that one.

I've been working on a scholarship essay from the Ayn Rand foundation. On the Fountainhead.  :vom:

I got to the rape scene and gave up. Gotta love spark notes.

QuoteNot a chance.  It's part one of three.

The third part being just the 90 page speech at the end.

Everyone does eventually.
