It probably comes off a bit forced but I guess that's what happens when you try to force your way out of creative limbo.

You took a hammer to the face of a god
who offered mediocrity
Your cause was noble and your spirit pure
but you never took the time to be free

Your life trickled down through the cracks in your veneer
such a pretty face to be twisted in a sneer
the arrogance of youth made you deaf to the wisdom of the years

The dice was loaded before you rolled
The bureaucrats had fortified the lies you were sold
They offered you paradise
knowing fine you'd rather stay out in the cold

Where they wanted you
Banging on the hollow walls
until your fists were ruined
and you impotently crawled
into a corner they had left for you
beneath the urban sprawl

With nothing but your rage to keep you warm
down where the mighty always fall
