So basically, what I'm saying is I've enjoyed your presence so far - you wanna chat? Then chat already. That's what this forum is for. Wanna play noob some more and I can practice my put downs some more then carry on - I'm on the mofo.

Is this what you expected or hoped to find? Do we meet some criteria that you've decided to test? Personally I don't happen to take this as an insult but some people might.

I don't obsess about the word nOOb, but I like welcoming new people myself...I always give people the benefit at the start.

I don't obsess over the number 23, and find it hilarious that people do (so I mock it by simulating it).

I couldn't give a damn if my posts disappear into a midden heap of old posts (this happens to all forums that don't use sticky threads, as I understand it, which is not a lot) - on the other hand, if people search forums (as I do) for keywords - then the spacetime distribution becomes irrelevant.

Anyway - Cat & Pigeons springs to mind...delighted to have fulfilled the mission Eris sent me on (it's a joke, it's an out-of-date, been there, done it, unfunny joke, OK). [use smileys, you idiot! They've heard it all before...]

I still think a place where new people can play with the forum and work out how things work seems like a good idea. Maybe you have a sandpit and I haven't found it yet.

All I could see was a post saying "we know all that, what else can you show me?"

I mean, if you don't want new people, refuse their registration. Seems simple enough to me. Apart from studying at MLA I run a Circus Arts Forum, and as moderator of the Message Board can chuck out idiots, assholes, spam and boring folk.  Haven't had to do anything except spam, yet (and I hope we closed that security leak now) but, come on folks.   Lighten up!

I know you all know each other, and teasing goes on between friends. I've known some of the folks at MLA for 3 years now, and we talk in shorthand.  I guess we have only ever had to calm down a couple of people who arrived there after reading Hyatt's "Psychopath's Bible, etc.

I haven't taken offence yet. I poked the wasp's nest, and got a response. Fair enough.

If the thread annoys you, then get yer admin to delete it...I've already messed around with editing myself, and such, so some of what I originally said only appears in quotes now.

I didn't mean to pretend to be anyone. I realise you must get quite a lot of dickheads...so next time I would start a 'playpen for beginners'. Not that one true nOOb braved the waters here to help me out, so fuck 'em.

I lurked here for a good month and a half before I started posting. Obviously that much time isn't needed, but get a feel for the place to see if it is your cup of tea or not. Continue actually hearing what people say and I imagine you'll do fine.
