I don't like to play favorites, but the sections that seem nearest to my heart -- and the ones I feel represent Discordia well when explaining the philosophy to others -- are:

- Starbuck's Pebbles (an excellent primer for / example of the concept of reality tunnels.)
- Curse of Greyface and also Salvation (these complimentary sections are a great reminder to not take myself so seriously. Also a personal well of hope.)
- The Curse of Greyface and the Introduction of Negativism (aka the Order/Disorder/Creative/Destructive matrix. As someone who grew up locked in the Order vs. Chaos binary, understanding this concept opened up a new ontological perspective for me and helped rid me of several personal prejudices.)

I don't have much to add here at this point in time, but I did want to pop in to say THANK YOU to those contributing to this conversation, which strikes me as critical in light of the current zeitgeist. Excellent, excellent food for thought here.

Comics artists starving to death notwithstanding, I truly believe this could have potential to be a "Dilbert for a new generation" kinda thing. I mean that in the best way possible; no offense intended whatsoever.

Not that any of this NEEDS graphical representation. It's pretty much perfect as-is.

Reading this was the perfect start to my day. Keep on keepin' on, Dok.

Fuckin' cancer.
Delayed, but sincere, condolences to you and yours, Chel.

Is that related to a Pennsylvania Dutch expression?

Possibly? I haven't a clue about most Pennsylvania Dutch customs, to be honest. Something about the idea of narco bunnies made me think of the phrase, which I'm familiar with thanks to Shea and Wilson's Illuminatus!:

"Weishaupt discovered the Law of Fives while he was stoned and looking at one of those shoggoth pictures you saw in Arkham. He imagined the shoggoth was a rabbit and said, 'du hexen Hase,' which has been preserved as an in-joke by Illuminati agent in Hollywood. It runs through the Bugs Bunny cartoons: 'You wascal wabbit!' But out of that schizzy mixture of hallucination and logomania, Weishaupt saw both the mystic meaning the Five and its pragmatic application as a principal of international espionage, using permutations and combinations that I'll explain when I have a pencil and paper."

The more things change, the more they stay the same and whatnot.

Oh yeah, I bought this version of the book about a year ago or so. Intensely disappointing. I don't even know where that copy is; I think I gave it away and repressed the memory of buying it in the first place until now.

Best wishes to your mom, Rog, and to you too.
