I want to create a pention to ban time-travelling Antonin Scalia's.

Something about having to prep ourselfs from Supreme Courts which will use our own legal precedents against us

Hey birther cubemate hates Trump.  But he LOVES Cruz.

I loved watching Cruz almost get into a slapfight with Rubio in the 9th debate.

A bunch of guys in my Industrial Electrical Maintenance class got into a discussion about politics last night.

I got the impression that everything they know about politics, they learned from Facebook memes.

Surprise!

BTW, did yuo know Bernie sanders was on welfare right up until he got elected to office, and only has $300,000.  You'd think Senators got paid better than that.

Also, he's an admitted Socialist, and socialism is BAD.

Mind you, this is coming from a bunch of guys who are getting financial aid from the government to go to school.

The surprise will be coming when they hit the trades for real.  Most tradesmen are liberal as hell.

Currently on a screen share for work. A partner company is presenting. The guy who's sharing his screen still has his last search displaying in his browser.

"What to tell someone when you lay them off"

He's had this window open for 45 minutes. He hasn't noticed. No one's chimed in. I'm just waiting for his realization. There's no way to notify him without him bringing attention to it. It's a partner company and not internal, so it's not on my team.

But still.

Wow. This is beautiful. This is real life.  :horrormirth:
We appear to be doomed by our DNA to repeat the same destructive behaviors our forebears have repeated for millenia. If anything our problem solving skills have actually diminished with the advent of technology & our ubiquitous modern conveniences. & yet despite our predisposition towards fear-driven hostility; towards what we anachronistically term primitive behavior another instinct is just as firmly encoded in our make-up. We are capable as our ancestors were of incredible breathtaking acts of kindness. Every hour of every day a man risks his life at a moments notice to save another. Forget for a moment the belligerent benevolent billionaires who grant the unfortunate a crumb of costfree cake. I speak of pure acts of selflessness. A Mother who rushes into the street to save a child from a speeding vehicle. A person who runs into a burning building to reach a family trapped on the upper story. Such actions, such moments, such unconscious selfless decisions, define what it is to be human

I hope that's how it is here in TN. All the ones I know are conservative as hell, but that's mostly family, and only a couple of them are actually bad enough to support Trump.

I did get the impression that not everyone in the room was on board with what these guys were saying, though. It seemed like they just didn't want to start an argument, which would probably be pointless, anyway. Also, good-ol-boys have a well earned reputation of fucking up your car (or class project) if they decide they don't like you. That's why, if anybody asks, I'm voting Vermin Supreme.

We had a tour of some people come through the shop in my first week. I distinctly overheard one of them (an older woman) say something like "Go Bernie Sanders!" as they were going out the door. No idea who they were.

Where in this shithole home state of mine are you located? I've roughly 4 months of good-son-cancer-assisting left before i either return to knox or flee the state in favor of Asheville, NC. Then another 4 or 5 years to see how he progresses before I GTFO the south altogether for forever this time.

Pæs

Hnnnng tonight I am finally getting my head around a side-channel attack on encrypted data called a Padding Oracle, which I use all the time and am fairly familiar with, but not comfortable enough on the technical detail to explain to someone else, which is the problem I'm fixing with tonight's recap. The problem is that I should instead have gone to bed and as a result I'm glaring at a page full of crypto math and code, angrily sipping whisky and muttering to myself.

Well, at least this probably applies so you'll make good progress for about 20-30 mins at some point.
Nine naked Men just walking down the road will cause a heap of trouble for all concerned.
