Unless the full range of my mental faculties have left me, and let me tell you, it certainly feels that way these days, I have been rejected as unworthy to volunteer for Alaskan Democrats for lack of devotion to a certain Senator.

My dissapointment is a truck full of bees.

It's a badge of honor.  I've been drummed out of both parties.

"Billy, when I say that ethics is our number one priority and safety is also our number one priority, you should take that to mean exactly what I said. Also quality. That's our number one priority as well. Don't look at me that way, you're in the corporate world now and this is how it works."

My favorite part was:

"Uh, aha, well Zach will call you and set something up that, uh, will work with that you'd like to do."

Me:
Awesome.

Do you have my number.

Oh. Yes. What's your number.

85% moved from Breck to Boulder. Found out the landlord will let us end the lease after 11 months, so I only have to pay rent in 2 places for August alone. Sadly this means no apartment on main for oktoberfest/the yellow-ing, but even that isn't worth 700.

New apartment blows my old one out of the water though. I also bought real furniture for the first time in my life.

Ski resorts were a great place to spend my mid 20s. Would definitely recommend. Just don't be surprised when you're rushing to get away from them in your late 20s.
We appear to be doomed by our DNA to repeat the same destructive behaviors our forebears have repeated for millenia. If anything our problem solving skills have actually diminished with the advent of technology & our ubiquitous modern conveniences. & yet despite our predisposition towards fear-driven hostility; towards what we anachronistically term primitive behavior another instinct is just as firmly encoded in our make-up. We are capable as our ancestors were of incredible breathtaking acts of kindness. Every hour of every day a man risks his life at a moments notice to save another. Forget for a moment the belligerent benevolent billionaires who grant the unfortunate a crumb of costfree cake. I speak of pure acts of selflessness. A Mother who rushes into the street to save a child from a speeding vehicle. A person who runs into a burning building to reach a family trapped on the upper story. Such actions, such moments, such unconscious selfless decisions, define what it is to be human

I was in Chicago last week.  It smells better than I remember.

Also, why are there so many dogs now?

Yeah, I noticed how much I wasn't smelling such a large city when I was there. I was like shit dude, what the fuck is New York dropping the ball on? One of the natives was like, "We regularly clean our streets and sidewalks." I told them to get their mayor to send New York's mayor their street sweeping plans.

I was actively getting a list of things that I would want in a new locale, too.

Maybe go somewhere where people see live music when they don't know the musicians, take on the local genre a bit.
Maybe go to a place with an American League team so I can see the Sox when they come to town.
Maybe go to a place with a National League team so I could root for them too (unless they matched up with Boston in the World Series).

When I first moved to Chicago, it was an open sewer.  The one thing Daley Jr did well was tidy things up.

In terms of garbage, I mean.  In other matters, his record's not so good.

It's because the politicians are full of hot air or being windbags or something. Either way it's the politicians.
