The video was funny, but he refered to goths, wiccans and magicians whenever he said pagans, and that was his fucking mistakes, his limited christian view.

The video was poorly made, poorly thought out, and poorly articulated with pictures that do not represent the entirety of the intended target (I would even argue goths to be a different subculture entirely).


Otherwise you're being just as worthless as the Tardo in the video itself.

Yes, definitely you should close your mind to anything I have to say, because you might get infected with my "stoner" germs and superior logic.  I'm not a Pagan myself, and I think whatever "magic powers" they use are in their own mind.  I also think it's possible to see phenomena that is inexplicable to Science, yet completely explainable by the power of the human mind to alter its own reality. 

How am I a hippie?  I've never owned anything tie-dyed, a minibus, or hugged a tree.  I DO have a mohawk and facial piercings, but that's cause I like scaring all the soccer-moms with minivans.

All the pictures were of goths, which are admittedly more concerned about image than substance.  In all of the things I've learned about Paganism it is an internal exploration of what works for the individual, instead of a forced conformity and conversion as perpetrated by the Abrahamic religions.  Also I feel a Nature based religion would fit better with the idea of sustainability instead of the "The purpose of Man is to Dominate and Subdue the Earth, 'cause God says so."  In addition, does that guy include all of the Indians, Africans, Aborigines, Islanders, and all the other people who historically subscribe to Animism?

As far as magic goes, I do think that the lure of easy power is a draw to many people in our culture who feel powerless in their lives otherwise.  I also think that people would abandon something new if it didn't work, and I've actually seen events resolve themselves in favor of people who've done "Spells."  I think it all revolves around the power of belief and focused intent, but anybody who takes anything too seriously (including atheism) is a Tardo. 

The man should organize his arguments better, and be more articulate, but he's right, he doesn't have to defend himself to anyone, I just think he's a moron.

Almost at the end he said something about all pagans being able to accomplish was buying a dime bag from the neighbor with their welfare checks, then promptly said "Ohhhh that was a bit too harsh I'm sorry etc etc" (paraphrased of course).

I considered the use of "Machine,Ñ¢" (coined in PD06 use by TGRR, btw) to be more Kafka-esque, as in an inexorably grinding juggernought that will grind you up & spit you out.

If you're writing for a more general audience, you might as well cut all the baggage that's firmly attached to "The Machine," by coming up with your own terms.  The Machine as used in popular culture is a trendy way of complaining about society without having to supply a personal critique.  What the fuck is this fetish with "The Machine"?  Why fight the association with bullshit?
