I doubt it. What I can see, is protesters getting a lot more economical with the tools left at their disposal. Cars won't get burnt out until the fuel has been siphoned off. The tyres/seats will get stripped to make makeshift shields and furniture.

Also, never underestimate an angry person's ability to find a flammable substance to stick in a bottle and set on fire. I can think of a couple of alternatives that are easily accessible and would do the job at least as well.

Me too. And i am sure we are not thinking about exactly the same ones. That is just two unmotivated people thinking for half a second. Imagine what hundreds to thousands of very motivated angry people could come up with.
