How many of you would be interested in a minecraft server?

It's basically lego. It's fun to make stuff, there's a slight survival aspect to it with the monsters. You can play it completely creatively with monsters off and the ability to move through objects and make really elaborate structures.
Or there's playing the survival game, mining for what you need, building small structures.

It is a game that only really comes alive when played with others because what's the point of making stuff if no one will ever see it but you?

A week ago, I would have said yes. My tablet was stolen and my kid has a video game addiction I'm addressing so neither of us will be playing for awhile.

I don't think so, the version of that is the pocket edition and if I recall correctly it didn't allow multiplayer but I'm not certain so give it a shot once the server is open.

Unless you plan on whitelisting it, the server will turn to shit within minutes should you list it publically. Assuming you plan on doing such anyway...

Protip:
Get bukkit and at least the grief prevention plugin and vanish-nopacket. Without at least these, ppening this to the public will be sheer anarchy...

Yeah I was going to go with white listing. I'm not too worried about grief prevention, I will automatically back up the world each night so if someone fucks something up I'll roll back.

Things are crazy at the moment but if I get a chance this evening I'll open the server and post a thread in OM as to how to connect.
