If China or Russia recovers before the USA, place bets on systemic war.

Figure on war in Eastern Europe before then.  The natives are getting restless.  Many people are in the hills, beating on drums in the darkness and jabbering nationalism.  Many old scores will be settled, and many new scores will be created.

I saw that "tent cities" are gowing up in Cali, as well as Lincolnshire, not to mention 90% of Africa.

I think the series of events (after "tent cities") will be:

1.  natural disaster
2.  pandemic
3.  martial law
4.  coup d'état
5.  missile strike
6.  thunderdome*

(*I hope we have electric cars befoe that shit)

true enough, but "The Octomom" would make a great name for a super-villian.

I was actually being autobiographical in my response, but I think y'all probably got that.

Love makes us do stupid things to ourselves.

Best post in this thread.

Love is a feeling, and most often that feeling is misery.

You know the part where the boy "wakes up" and sees what could be, what should be, and asks girl to marry him.  Of course, she says yes and the next year is a blur of wedding planning, wedding and newlyweddedness.

What follows is a montage of finishing school, getting jobs, buying house and car, all set to "Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves.

Then one day when he comes home from work, "Guess what, I'm pregnant!"  Happiness and a pregnancy montage all set to [insert baby montage cliche song here].  Baby is born and is beautiful.

All is well, credits roll.  Happily ever after.

A couple years later, girl notices that boy's eyes that don't look at her that way anymore and the hands that don't touch her that way anymore.  In fact she can't remember when the last time was they did.  She feels like she deserves better--there are guys she knows that DO look at her that way.  Boy has always known he didn't really feel that way, but he never really could walk away because he loves her (just not like that) and he hopes that is good enough.

Discordian Recipes / Re: BACON SUCCESSFUL

"makin' bacon" meant something completely different when I was a kid.

prereq: "Is that what the kids are calling it these days?"

I doubt it.  Some in the living room, but not likely in the smaller ones--like the small addition (it had bookcases).  It is newly redone.  I bet I could slip an Eris coloring book in with the kids stuff without being detected.

He was here this weekend, and I missed it!!  DAMN.

BTW, Midland , TX where I am currently located is the home town of "W".  I took a tour a few months back of the George W. Bush childhood home (he only lived here for a short while).

It just dawned on me what a great opportunity it would be to sneak some discordian literature into the W childhood home bookcases.  There were old Howedy-Doody coloring books, etc.

What do y'all think?

Immediately labeling them as such when they come in is a self-fulfilling prophecy, by the way.

Not necessarily. It's only self-fulfilling if said person gets all pissy about being labeled a troll/n00b and starts flexing his e-peen and whatnot.

There's too many fucking morons around teh webernets to just be all buddy-buddy with every schmuck that comes around. Shake up the FNG and see what happens - standard procedure. Fuck prophecy.

Yeah, I get what you mean. I just don't like the constant attacks on pretty much everyone that joins up.

My opinion is that a troll will get it if it warrants it. One post isn't enough to make that assessment, unless it's TRULY terrible.

I have found that when you are as mind-numbingly boring as me, no one even notices when you join a forum or make posts (except for the extremely stupid or in poor taste ones).
