Quote from: Alty on March 23, 2012, 06:43:16 AM
After explaining my most recent life-goals:

"Alty, I am going to say this because I know nobody else in your life is going to: I'm sorry for all of the things that have happened to you in your life, all of the experiences with people that you've have that have brought you to this point in your life. I'm sorry."

I am unsure if I should extend sympathy or congratulations.

Salty

I took it with a grain of salt as this fellow has also said that he's a "hate the sin not the sinner" type and, being Christian, has alluded to the fact that the Jews sure have a lot of bad luck maybe it's for a very specific reason.
He's very nice and never swears.
The world is a car and you're the crash test dummy.

Cain

You know who else never swore but insisted the Jews had a lot of bad luck for a specific reason?

HITLER, THAT'S WHO!

Chairman Risus

Alty, stop taking advice from Hitler.

Nephew Twiddleton

Risus: "alty, stop taking advice from hitler"

Mangrove

My friend said this yesterday:

"Steampunks are just goths who discovered brown."
What makes it so? Making it so is what makes it so.

Richter

"The utility of having contacts with an up-and-coming chicken suit operation is ENDLESS"
Quote from: Eater of Clowns on May 22, 2015, 03:00:53 AM
Anyone ever think about how Richter inhabits the same reality as you and just scream and scream and scream, but in a good way?   :lulz:

More accurate words have never been uttered.  :lulz:
"I'm guessing it was January 2007, a meeting in Bethesda, we got a bag of bees and just started smashing them on the desk," Charles Wick said. "It was very complicated."

Well, I'd add to their list of discoveries:

They replaced skull motifs with gears

They read maybe a Jules Verne book or two instead of Anne Rice

And, um... they created movement that is based pretty much entirely on a visual style, even though it has the suffix "-punk", I guess? At least Goth has music associated with it; Steampunk music is pretty token and it's quite hard to find anything that actually sounds good.

It's based in literature, is why.

The Smashing Pumpkins have had a steampunkish vibe to them at times post-Siamese Dream.  Though they may be a bit long in the tooth to have been co-opted by the steam punkers.

Literature that was written by cyberpunk authors, based on Verne and Wells and Shelly. Hence the -punk.
