You want factors effecting actions and beliefs?

Personal psychology
Social status/peer group
Socio-economic status
Unitary actor levels (bureaucratic level)
Legal/State level
Cultural/linguistic/ religious level
Abstract/strategic level

.....for a quick roundup.  No doubt Critical Theorists and Marxists would add even more.

LMNO

Yeah.

Any quick buzzword to sum all that up?

"Everything"?

LMNO

Heh.

The point being, in the flowchart, we have a set of limitations.  The first is biological, the second cultural (subconcious), the third personal (concious).  The result of these filters gets fed into a loop of cultural and personal filters, reinforcing itself.

Cain

Ah, you want a method of influence classification.  I'll see what I can do.

my take with more emphasis on the 'no way out' aspect

I agree that "reality" is much broader and larger a concept, but this means it's only contained within our conceptual precepts and conclusions.  Not sure if reality is so confined, really, though there's lots of empty space not defined here either.

Triple Zero

that diagram is supposed to mean reality = everything outside the circle, right?

It was more along the lines of my 'inside the sphere' analogy

We're inside reality so it's impossible to see it in context.

We sussed out the cosmos cos we originally found ourselves on the outside of a sphere - earth.

We thot it was flat to begin with but we pretty quickly worked out the troof by going around it and maths and stuff. Then we figured out what the stars and planets were.

Imagine if we'd been born inside a dyson sphere instead.

It seems the issue here is how to represent "Reality" in a flowchart.  This does, however, lead us away from the entire point of the chart, which is the process of perception, and how "Reality" as represented by a circle is first distorted by the senses into an octagon.
