I have a soft spot for this one - first Crowley book I ever read. Still my favourite.

That was a boring goddamn book, if I recall.
Yes it was. A drug binge in paris basically. I never got through the whole thing. Though it should probably be noted that i found fear and loathing in las vegas to be boring too.
I think I came across it at the right time in my life (two weeks before I went batshit fucking insane) and picked up a lot of TFYS in the prose. Plus I like the self hate directed at the King Lamus character. This book was written while the old guy was in the throes of cold turkey and there's a lot of places where that really shines through.
