TESTEMONAIL:  Right and Discordianism allows room for personal interpretation. You have your theories and I have mine. Unlike Christianity, Discordia allows room for ideas and opinions, and mine is well-informed and based on ancient philosophy and theology, so, my neo-Discordian friends, open your minds to my interpretation and I will open my mind to yours. That's fair enough, right? Just claiming to be discordian should mean that your mind is open and willing to learn and share ideas. You guys are fucking bashing me and your laughing at my theologies and my friends know what's up and are laughing at you and honestly this is my last shot at putting a label on my belief structure and your making me lose all hope of ever finding a ideological group I can relate to because you don't even know what the fuck I'm talking about and everything I have said is based on the founding principals of real Discordianism. Expand your mind.

"In urban areas, we tend to tune out the homeless to the point where we don't even see them. What if we really don't see them? What if there's another world, just slightly out of sync with this one, where the rules are all different. (JMS used a similar springboard for Midnight Nation, but took it in a completely different direction.) There's poverty, and scavenging... but there's also magic, and honor, and a society with its own strange codes. The story follows everyman Richard Mayhew as, through a simple act of kindness, he slips through the cracks from London Above to London Below. In order to get back, he has to help a mysterious girl named Door on her quest to find her family's killers and honor their legacy...and escape the assassins tracking them both!" - http://www.hyperborea.org/journal/archives/2005/03/15/neverwhere-30/

"Matty Roth, a naïve young man and aspiring photojournalist, lands a dream gig following a veteran war journalist into the heart of the DMZ. Things soon go terribly wrong, and Matty finds himself lost and alone in a world he's only seen on television. There, he is faced with a choice: try to find a way off the island, or make his career with an assignment most journalists would kill for. But can he survive in a war zone long enough to report the truth?" - http://www.comicvine.com/dmz-on-the-ground-part-1/37-105414/

Further info the island is Manhattan and the story takes place during a second United States Civil War.

sorry
Here then, collected in one neat little volume, is the very first story in the saga of TRANSMETROPOLITAN. Here is a city filled with every sin you can imagine, and a few that have been imagined for you. Here is Spider Jerusalem, the cranky, miserable bastard who will guide you through this future Babylon. Here is the finest, blackest humor, and the purest hate, and a sense of justice hissed through his gritted teeth. And here, as unexpected and natural as a stripper's tears, is a little vein of ordinary humanity. --Garth Ennis, from his introduction.

This is a really awesome forum that a friend showed me recently. They have links to downloads on just about everything. They mainly use rapidshare so unless you have a premium account or a way to bypass the download limitation it can take a while to get everything you want.

Edited to add: You have to make an account there before you can see all the boards.
