Trump now attacking everyone, mainly his own side. Polls around 60/40 to Clinton. At this point she just needs to smile, nod and remain upright to win. He's doing all the heavy lifting for her.

Taking bets on next part of the show, expecting worse yet to come.

I'm pretty sure Trump knows the election is over, on some level.

He's rallying his base for the next event: the GOP civil war that's going to break out.  Trump will claim the socialists, industrialists and Jews establishment Republicans stabbed him in the back, while he was on the cusp of victory, and that the ranks must be purged.

I love how the Wikileaks "bombshell" turned out to be seriously just a pile of eye-rolling wat.

Look, that guy from Blink 182 emailing Hillary Clinton about aliens is a GAME CHANGER.

There was a reference in one of the emails to ISIS being state-backed by Qatar and Saudi Arabia, but that was a widely held assumption in 2014 and it's not clear what Podesta and Clinton are basing this on, and whether they actually mean properly state-sanctioned, or just turning a blind eye to fundraising by sheikhs and recruiting by preachers.

Really? I would have assumed that they would drop him like a stone as soon as this is done with and just pretend it never happened. I can't see trump's ego standing around not being at least a contestant on the show. Reality TV seems the most likely path for him. Use that fanbase to flog cheap merch and capitalise on the name. Couple this with bragging about how smart he was to lose the presidency because it's built his brand so much and you've got trumps fate in a can.

I'm basing this on the republican support fleeing from trump in such a concerted fashion that they may actually be getting their shit together a bit behind the scenes. I'm sure a few were waiting to do this anyway when the time was right because it took so fucking long for the support to shift over in the first place it only makes sense that it would flee twice as easily.

With these two nations, it's probably a degree of both depending on the region.

So how/who is likely to be funding ISIS now? There must be someone topping up the war chest as there's surely no way they could have been running this long without a decent injection or two along the way. I can't see private individual contributions being able to make much of a serious dent in the total costs.

They're going to try and drop him, but it won't be easy.  He is rallying the party base, the tea-tards and the religious right, the "useful idiots" the corporatists at the top of the GOP like to appeal to, then throw scraps at and otherwise ignore while in power.  And he's offering a hell of a lot more than they ever did.

A lot will ride on how the house votes go.  If Republicans who criticised Trump heavily are voted out or lose their seats (and they probably will), then it's game on.  Up and comers in the party will have to emulate Trump to get anywhere, and so instead of dealing with a single Trump, the GOP will be dealing with hundreds of little Trumps.

They have functioning oil fields, in the middle of a multi-sided international conflict.  They still get overseas funds, but even if that were entirely absent, they'd be able to self-fund and then some.

I'm half expecting him to sue everyone who said bad things about him during his candidacy, for... defamation or something.

FYI, the New York Times makes $100 million a year just from its paywall service.  One of its biggest financial backers is also Carlos Slim.  It's also got such a reputation they may not even have to pay out of pocket, given the obvious public interest arguments over this.

If Trump is hoping to intimidate the NYT into submission through a prolonged and vindictive court battle, he may have bitten off more than he can chew.
