Yeah, I'd suggest going to the doc as soon as  you can, that's concerning. I actually wasn't thinking heart as much as a possible lung infection or a lung clot, but heart is also certainly a possibility.

Recently I had a similar spell... I wonder if it's related?

I was sitting at my computer two days ago, noticed my breath was short like it's never been before, and suddenly felt a strange pressure below my belly button... where I think my bladder is, followed by a heavy instant headache and loud "ringing" in my ears.  I put ringing in quotes because the sound was not like ringing at all or anything I've heard before, more like loud analog TV static.  Anyway I stood up to go into the bathroom, immediately felt dizzy as all hell, and barely made it away from my computer desk before my vision greyed out completely and I was so weak and dizzy I fell over and passed out.  Or fainted, it's hard to tell.  I believe I was out from between 10 minutes to 30 minutes, but I'm not entirely certain as I was home alone at the time.  Nothing like this has ever happened to me and it scared the fuck out of me.

After I woke up I was still dizzy and weak and short of breath for about half an hour before it finally went away, though I was very shaky and had chills (it was also really cold in my house at the time) for an hour or so afterwards.

If you visit a doctor and discover the cause of your spell, please let me know as I might have the same or a similar issue.  I just can't afford a doctor.
