LMNO

If we're talking dark comedies that went right over everyone's heads, Shakes the Clown is right up there.

lol yes!  I just happen to be on a dark comedy kick lately...but I'm certainly not limited to that.

Ok, in the "actually a good film" category, I'd suggest Being There.  Peter Sellers plays a gardner who knows nothing about the outside world, to the point of near-catatonia, and gets sucked into the American political system, where he excels.

Where's Hoopla when we need him? Wasn't he doing video movie reviews for these kinda films?

Yes, and they're awesome.

Heh, most of the movies I reviewed were pretty terrible, though I more often than not tended to like them personally.  But, that's not to say I would necessarily recommend them to anyone.

For an underrated movie I'd actually recommend (other than Shakes the Clown, which I also stand behind) I would choose 3 Women by Robert Altman.  It might be a little slow for some people, but it's a strange and beautiful film which not a lot of people have seen, sadly.

"Now's not the time to get silly, so wear your big boots and jump on the garbage clowns." — Bob Dylan?

Very well then I contradict myself,
(I am large, I contain multitudes.)"

Mutant Girls Squad. It is the stuff Bad Movie Nights are MADE of. Do what I did: get some reasonable whisky, add a pizza or two, a handful of friends, a netflix account and SERVE.

Because there's so much wrong with this terrible heap of shit it actually starts to become decent. Seriously. At some point your mind breaks and the headbands with "ninja" on seem to make some kind of horrible sense.
Nine naked Men just walking down the road will cause a heap of trouble for all concerned.

From what I've heard that pretty much is every Godfrey Ho movie

Troll 2.

The movie that made my ex-bf stop letting me pick movies.
"I'm guessing it was January 2007, a meeting in Bethesda, we got a bag of bees and just started smashing them on the desk," Charles Wick said. "It was very complicated."

Quite good, though not as good as Flash Gordon.

The wife contends that Flash Gordon is the greatest movie ever made.

I still love her.

Apparently, all of "To Cast a Deadly Spell" is up on youtube (I'd look for a cleaner source, but it's cool it's out there).

Anna Mae Bollocks

I don't know if it was underrated at the time, but nobody knows it now - it's old. Tod Browning's The Unknown - you can watch it here, but use the mute button - somebody scored it and did a shit job. You won't miss any dialogue, it's a silent. It's also weird as fuck. :D http://vimeo.com/38196403
