I had to read the wiki page, but from what I can tell it's an area of the DF that has all the food carts and a piece of public art with a bird on it.

In other words, you appear to be absolutely right. :lulz:

Is where all the hippie, yuppie, hipsters, sociology/anthropology/philosophy/artsy majors go to do the "peacock" walk about how so-not-mainstream they are...

good thing is that its a library hub and where the national cinetheque resides in... UNAM aint far either...

Yet to find Mexico's New York or in its defect, San Francisco...

A friend of mine up north referred to Portland today as "Seattle's Mexico".

I like it even harder because it means that Vancouver is Washington's El Paso. :lulz:

NO! Coyoacan is Mexico's Portland.

Consciousness is a privilege not everyone can afford, or has access to.

One should be grateful (grateful to whom? depends).

His work is not being repressed, so I guess that means his hypothesis is not correct.  Does that mean he killed himself over something that isn't even true?

Testing hypothesis is the work of SCIENCE after all, he truly was an scientist.

PD is mostly id think a USA based community, most of the point of being here is about interaction with the other members of it, because although the host to the Principia Discordia, it isnt primarily about Discordianism.

And necessarily follows that if its central focus is on the community, the people that remain are the ones that have good interaction with the already present members.

Make of it what you will, its subjective as to if this is a good or bad thing.

---------------------------------------------------------------
PD subforum is basicly for the very much philosophically driven, with the pineal thread here and there.

AT is internet candy, temple of the memes but mostly the part where day to day or merely social conversations take place (theres exceptions, but this is the general thing going on)

OMF is trolling (in all its definitions)

AI is politics and news

TFYS is sporadically the grounds of BIP discussions, with a lot of texts being a mix between OKM and the PD stylistic

DC is pretty self describing

LC is the host of the "best book" discussions, piracy and personal narratives

OKM is supposedly intended for rants, but theres a lot of texts similar to those created in LC

TaS self described

MMM is a mix between OMF and LC

BB self described
--------------------------------------------------------

Now that we have a summary, we can get on to some analysis.

PD: very niche interest

AT: of vague interest for non-USA or very socially involved foreigners

OMF: not intrinsecally tied to discordianism

AI: some interest to foreigners, but sometimes it gets flooded with local news that arent of general interest

TFYSS: Not much activity on projects

DC: somewhat like OMF

LC: i consider it a niche interest too

OKM: too methaporical and personal for my taste usually

TaS: see DC and OMF

BB: for the socially inclined too id say

In terms of internet usage in Mexico, its mostly instant gratification entertainment (youtube, facebook) or just school/work related, i wouldnt consider a huge portion of the population to be "digitalized" so to speak. Add to that the fact that internet access is a luxury that is usually not chosen over TV subscription or alcohol, the internet user demography is small. For example, i survive a month with about $416 (dollars), and about $41 of them go to the phone/internet rent. (just as reference, i pay $91 of housing).

Now, on terms of the demography taht actually has internet access, its either middle or high class... due to the class unequality, most of middle and upper class have prejudice and entitlement ideology, something Tea-Baggerish, but thats just a metaphor... i mean, they have ideological ties mostly to the far-right, establishment and orthodox religion... so theres few subversives from the upper classes...

Now, the middle or upper class people that are anti-establishment, so to speak, are mostly jaded and hedonistic, they know how things work, and how they dont change...

As for me, ive lived in different places with different cultures; ive been miserable poor, and ive been also in positions of wealth; im smart, with previos interest in philosophy and a huge interest on psychology now; im also a social recluse that lives on books and music.

Im also white compared to my nationals; so yes, if one wants to make the postulation that race is the determinining factor its simplyfiyng the issue... the underlying tie to "race" would in fact be the factors of time to actually read, disposition towards subversive ideology, tendency for reading odd articles about odd symbolical things.

Gotta go with the nachos. Then  I can sell some and make enough money for a one way ticket to the moon for my nachos and me.

THIS.

Infinite nachos = infinite money (AND CHEESE)
