The main motivation for Gellar and co being told "nah, feck off" (and this is a personal opinion) is that the BNP and it's various splinters, and the EDL are costing so much time and effort with policing, because left wing nuisances like myself go counter demos of this kind of thing, and popular support of the left here is slowly swelling with the Tory government , the EDL can't march without 5 pints and causing distress to the general public.

Actually, I kind of wish they HAD been let in so more criticism could be levelled at the government. Either way for lefty nuisance pinko socialists like myself, it'd be win-win

In my internet activisty loop there is concern about yet more imperialist intervention/ the cost of funding another fucking Iraq whilst child poverty soars, the bedroom tax in social housing causing homelessness, and disabled and chronically ill people being termed fit for work by a subcontractor to the Department for Work and Pensions and then dropping dead/committing suicide as well as all the other cluster fuck bombs of austerity that are going to cost more than they save.

Of course the noisiest students are the ones that struggle with the rise in tuition fees and a lot of these potential students that can't get their full educational potential have given up the idea of Uni.

I would put it a bit later.. these kids will be desperately trying to do freshers week and meet new people, learn how to live away from their parents and deal with hangovers from the freshers pub crawl. Then they'll realise that their mates who were smart enough but too poor are either unemployed or working some shitty zero hours contract service job.

it also depends on how the politically motivated societies at Uni's are working whatever angle they do.
