My boyfriend is basically nocturnal. He wanted to spend  the night, and refused melatonin when I offered it to him, and has been in my bed fidgeting every 3 minutes for the last two hours. I am desperately tired and stressed with school, and have to get up at 7 am.

And I am a light sleeper who is easily awakened by movement near me.

Basically I am in my own personal hell right now.

This is one of the only things the fiancée and I ever fight about, I am a fidget (and find very few beds comfortable), I turn every few hours and about once a week I need to get up to the bathroom. She is up at 6:45 to get to work. Maybe I should try melatonin.

Turning every three hours I can live with. Random fidgets every three minutes followed by snoring = massively incompatible sleep style, given my "often insomniac hypervigilant" sleep style.

Not saying it's him. It's not him. But it's also not tolerable.

Is it all the time, how would you feel about separate rooms during the week?

The fascinating thing about her suggestion is that the point of the program is to provide field research experience for me, not to enrich my children's life experiences.

And then it was shortly followed up by another guy lamenting that it's only an 11-day program and not a 6-month program. Jesus fucking christ people, I just want to get accepted to the program I actually applied for, not some hypothetical 6-month program where I can bring my children. Let me at least get accepted to the thing I WANT before starting in on how it's too bad it isn't something else entirely.

I also used to behave like that, sometimes.  It's envy that masks itself with a disparaging comparison.  They will resist the idea that they actually resent you for nearly living their dreams.  The best response I found is to say "I'm so jealous" re: something they do.
