Zelazny rocks my pulpy, sci-fi soul on a regular basis.  Go read

'Lord of Light'
'A Night in the Lonesome October'
'Roadmarks'

And if you have way too much spare time, read all ten of the Amber books.  I'm almost halfway, somehwer in the middle of the fourth book.

Thank you, I'm putting them on my list for when I'm done with what I'm reading now.
just like in a dream
you'll open your mouth to scream
and you won't make a sound

you can't believe your eyes
you can't believe your ears
you can't believe your friends
you can't believe you're here

Neil Gaiman has cited Zelazny as one of the principle influences on his writing. I must check him out some time.

Yes, read the Amber books.

They rock too many socks to list.

Corwin and Merlin are cool.

Stay away from the prequels.  they're booooooring.
I think the novelist is playing a trick on me...

Creatures of Light and Darkness is quite awesome, though possibly a bit out-there.  Deals with rogue gods, genetic engineering, time travel, the whole weird gamut.  Wonderful.

And he's got about a thousand short stories, ranging from brilliant to terrible.  I just finished 'For a Breath I Tarry' and it was great, like the Book of Job with robots.

Jack of Shadows  makes suicide hysterical, and its only a novella.
