Title: Minecraft?
Post by: Requia ☣ on March 07, 2011, 12:16:19 AM
I've been thinking about setting up a private Minecraft server, cause I get sick to death of dealing with griefers in the public one.

How many people here would be interested in joining in?

Could we find a way to slip it through a firewall?

Depends on the security setup, a quick Google tells me that windows doesn't have a concept of privileged ports though (the mind boggles), and if you can run Minecraft on the machine you can obviously execute whatever Java code you want.  Just need to find an appropriate tunneling program.

A server that will support that might be trickier, would have to ask potential hosts.

What's the nature of the firewall?

If you can get to minecraft.com you can play in browser.

Hey Req, did you get that server up and running? If it's still going, I'd love to drop in.
