Anyone know any webcomics that they'd highly recommend to me?

I'm already keeping tabs on Something Positive, Friendly Hostility, Two Lumps, Fallen, and Grayling.
Elves suck.

What are you into? Geek comics? Roleplaying comics? Things that fuck with the fourth wall? Slice-of-life comics? Silly ones with animals?

In the meantime, I'll grab my comic links and post every fifth one:
Schlock Mercenary is a sci-fi comic about a mercenary company. Not so many one liners but has fairly engaging stories.

Freefall is more sci-fi. vaguely engaging plots but I read it mostly for the lovely characters.

The Whiteboard is my favourite paintball comic. YMMV.

Jack is about Death, who is a bunny-rabbit and lives in Hell. Sometimes (often?) has themes and images which may not be suitable for the entire family. I have a sort of love/hate thing going on with this one.

Ozy and Millie is often a bit mediochre but occasionally brilliant.

Gin and the Devil is kinda new but I am liking it so far.

Red Meat ranges from ignorable to delightfully fucked up.

If you like messed up stuff, try the archives of PLIF or Flem.

Horab Fibslager

i read nuklearpower and megatokyo.

i've treid a few others, but none really do it for me. hello cthulu is funny, but never gets updates.
Hell is other people.

Until recently the whole list was searchable on my Web site. I hope that it will be again soon.

All of them, thank you.  I'm too new to this webcomic addiction thing to know where my interests will eventually lie.  Also, I have the sneaking suspicion that in this, like in music and other arts, there can be found gold hidden in layers of muck.
Thank you very much for your links, too.

What exactly is meant by "the fourth wall"?  I've seen that phrase used, but I couldn't puzzle it out based on the context.

The first is about internet roleplaying chat (like we don't roleplay here).
The second is really weird.
Hotsuma, don't read the third one.  It is about a girl with a secret. (and a paradox that you don't like)

Mary: Let me ask you something.
[Grabs his hand]
Mary: Why are you alive?
John Preston: [Breaks free] I'm alive... I live... to safeguard the continuity of this great society. To serve Libria.
Mary: It's circular. You exist to continue your existence. What's the point?
John Preston: What's the point of your existence?
Mary: To feel. 'Cause you've never done it, you can never know it. But it's as vital as breath. And without it, without love, without anger, without sorrow, breath is just a clock... ticking.

Are there any elves in those, aini?  I really, really do not like elves.  I'm not hot for any of the Fae, but especially not elves.

Prickly

Sluggy Freelance is pretty good, and relatively low on elves (besides, once the North Pole is invaded by aliens, that problem is solved). The last couple years or so have been a little slower, but the first 5 years are comedy gold.

KITTENS! *runs*

As someone else already posted, Penny Arcade and Eight Bit Theater are fuggin hilarious. PA is really only any good if you keep up with video gaming, although I suppose there's enough non-game humor to be worth a try (I am the King of No Pants!). Eight Bit Theater is funny whether you're a geek laughing at yourself or a non-geek making fun of geeks. And Goths WANT to die, so we should help them along.
Pope Prickly the Pielyamorous Porcupine of the Bent Quarter Cabal and, more recently, the Sunrise If You Dare Cabal

Before the beginning, there was a 50/50 chance of either something or nothing existing. So, something and nothing decided to flip a coin to decide which of them would exist. However, in order for there to be a coin to flip, something had to have already won the toss. Therefore, you only exist because something is a cheating bastard.

If you find something(s) that grab your interest, post them here and I'll try to throw a few more suggestions of similar sorts of things at you.

Quote from: EraPassingWhat exactly is meant by "the fourth wall"?  I've seen that phrase used, but I couldn't puzzle it out based on the context.

Comics have three 'walls' that you can see: left, right and the back of the panel. To 'break the fourth wall' refers to those times when the characters talk directly to the audience or the writer. If the comic was a movie, the 'fourth wall' would be where the camera was.

Real Life and No Fourth Wall to Break are examples of Web comics where this sort of thing happens frequently.
