I am lucky enough not to have been molested.  I don't know how many people I know have been, none that have have confided it in me and I hope that, in fact, none have.  All I have are statistics and studies and according to those most people who are molested get consequences that are not good at all,  mental problems, physical problems too, problems that often last a life time.

I am sure that some victims of molestation manage to overcome these consequences and live relatively normal lives.  Good for them.  I'm not going to assume someone is bonkers if I find out they have been molested, if I already know they are bonkers and then I find out they've been molested I may assume that is why.

The thing about being molested is that you can get therapy and lead a perfectly happy, fulfilling life. You can't get therapy for being dead.

You are basically saying that one quarter of the women in the US would be better off had their molester murdered them. You are also giving WAY too much power to pedophiles and the act of molestation; it's a big deal but it's not THAT big of a deal. Imagining that victims of rape and other forms of sex abuse are fundamentally damaged due to it is a weirdly patriarchal phenomenon that emphasizes the power of the sex act and its value as a commodity over the value of human life.
