So we'd just repost things into it, like the POTD thread?

I was also thinking it should post pics with one day delay or something, so that if somebody spams it, or posts something offensive, the mods can just remove it and it won't get tumbled.

I really do wish we wouldn't have to worry about NSFW, but I guess that's not much of an option. Not that I'd want to post porn, just the occasional penis, butt and booby. I mean, how often do we shout about DICKS and there aren't REALLY ANY DICKS FOR MILES TO BE SEEN??

no it's just a big zipfile of all the pics that were already in this thread. and I promise it's still taking effort :-P

that's exactly the reason why I didn't feel too happy about Twid's collaborative tagging plan.

technically a good idea, useful and neat it might have been, my name's not zuckerberg :)

I also don't plan the zipfile to be online for very long. It's people's faces after all, and it's just there for advancement of our own womping fun.

I'm not really sure why I really did this, but the excuse I'm using is that Trip showed surprise when Dok said it's like six miles or more to the drug store here.  So I went on a short adventevure and took some pictures to help give an idea what it's like.  These are really crappy though, so meh.

We begin our quest just up the street a ways.  This one points towards the highway, but you can't see it because it's like ten miles out past a lot of hilly terrain.  This one points towards Tucson proper, but you can't see it because that car's headlights is in the way.  This one is towards home, but there's a hill in the way and you can't see over it.  These and like one other picture I parked to take, but after that I started freaking out because its really flipping dark out.  And really flipping empty.  It's like, oppressively unoppressive or something.  There aren't any trees or tall buildings, there's minimal big hills, and there's lots of sky overhead but that's somehow worse than feeling clostrophobic.

I tried to take a good sampling of what the thingie is like, how its all divided up.  At first, I thought I'd take a picture at every light or every other light, but sometimes they're really far apart, even upwards of a mile.  Also, I was damned stupid if I thought parking and getting out of the car was a good idea.  Oh thank god I've hit civilization again.  That was a McDonalds and a gas station, about five or six miles from where I started.

It goes on.  I took a total of 35 pictures, and the ones where I was taking pictures of stores, I think I got about three of each area because you can see them from far off, but they're all pretty awful.  I suck at art.  :lulz:

Well, they're definitely very artsy! :) :)

In think I got a rough idea, yeah. I can also imagine that's not really bike-suitable, especially at night. If you had taken the pics by daylight I might have been able to see farther :) But the fact that everything's really dark after a few meters gives a good idea how nothing is there.

Digital cameras suck in the daytime here, because the sun is too bright.
