I was a little unsure about the Malazan Book of the Fallen series, but I think its growing on me.  That it is quickly heading into Thirty Xanatos Pileup territory doesn't hurt, nor that its set in a crapsack world.

This is so true.  It frustrates me.

We can never win this farce by the current means.  It's built to fail.  Makes me wonder how easily we could make antiterrorism progress by mimicking their strategies.  I mean, imagine what the marines could do if they stopped being used like traditional troops and more like free agents in small cells.

The marines would go rogue within minutes.
