In North Korea, this forum wouldn't be banned, it would be revered and taught in schools as a palatable and preferable version of Western history. And in many ways, that's all the truth the children of North Korea need

I don't really have a lot of contribute to the debate here between "Piracy is bad" and "Piracy is good", but when given the opportunity to download the latest Gogol Bordello album or not listen to it at all, personally I choose to steal it from them. I don't even really help advertise, because everyone I share it with steals it as well.
Still, I don't lose any sleep over whether or not I cheated them out of something because, well, piracy is here and it's not going away. Given the opportunity to steal a physical copy of their album, without threat of consequences, still I would not do so, because I would consider this to be immoral. Somehow I don't see the piracy as the same as physical theft, though perhaps it is. I'm going to think on this further and continue my reply later. Apparently it's time to go to a party or something.

To be continued.

FUTUREPROOF YOUR CHILD TODAY.

But really, just go with John.
After naming one child "Eris Olive", people are likely expecting the second name to be as fantastic.
Surprise and disappoint them.

FORGET EVERYTHING YOU "KNOW" ABOUT MELONS.

THIS TWISTED LITTLE BITCH APPEARS THE BE THE PRODUCT OF A HEDGEHOG FUCKING A BLOWFISH AND ARRANGING SURROGACY WITH SOME KIND OF CUCUMBER VINE. JUST THINKING ABOUT THIS FOUL ABNORMALITY IS GIVING ME THE FEAR. IN MY PANCE. THIS DERANGED MOTHERFUCKER WILL SPIKE YOU IF YOU SO MUCH AS LOOK AT IT THE WRONG WAY. IT'S LIKE A BULL, BUT INSTEAD OF HAVING A COW ON THE OTHER SIDE OF ITS HORNS, IT JUST HAS MORE HORNS. OH, AND IN THE MIDDLE? DELICIOUS FUCKING FRUIT.

ARE YOU MAN ENOUGH TO TAKE THIS FUCKER ON?
SLAP ON SOME GLOVES, JIMMY, AND GET WRESTLING. TEAR IT IN HALF WITH YOUR BARE HANDS THEN HOLD IT OVER YOUR FACE AND SQUEEZE IT. GELATINOUS GREEN GOO WILL SPLATTER ALL OVER YOU, AND TEMPORALLY BLIND YOU SO YOU CAN'T TELL WHETHER SOMEONE JUST SNEEZED ON YOU OR IF YOU SOMEHOW FOUND YOURSELF IN THE CENTER OF AN INTERGALACTIC BUKKAKE CIRCLE

HOLY FUCKING DICKS, THIS THREAD NEEDS SOME MOTHERFUCKING KIWIFRUIT ALL UP IN IT.
YEAH, THESE HAIRY LITTLE BASTARDS WILL BLOW YOUR FUCKING MIND.

THIS SNEAKY SON OF A BITCH ISN'T ACTUALLY RELATED TO THE KIWI AT ALL, BUT IT'S WEARING A RATHER CLEVER DISGUISE TO SCARE AWAY PREDATORS BY MASQUERADING AS A FLIGHTLESS BIRD. THE THING IS, UNLIKE A REAL KIWI, WHEN YOU CUT ONE OF THESE FLUFFY BROWN EGGS OPEN... IT'S BRIGHT FUCKING GREEN ON THE INSIDE.
LIKE SOME SORT OF SPACEFRUIT.
WHAT IS WITH THIS SHIT?

I half-read your reply and I didn't dislike it. Now that I'm awake, I'm disappointed to come back and find it gone.

Yay bureaucracy.  :|
I dread this situation every time someone needs my birth certificate to verify my identity.
The name I've used all my life and have all my other ID as is misspelled on my birth certificate. Nobody has noticed yet, and I haven't had it fixed in the hopes that I come up with some ingenious way to use it as a second identity (to a computer, a few letters switched around is an entirely different entry).

But I'm sure they'll notice at the worst possible time, as it sounds like they did in this case.

I really liked this.
I keep opening it to read over it again, but haven't got much in the way of things to add.
Thought I'd mention that I enjoyed it, though.

QuoteThe ruling comes in a case in which a suspect, Van Chester Thompkins, remained mostly silent for a three-hour police interrogation before implicating himself in a Jan. 10, 2000, murder in Southfield, Mich. He appealed his conviction, saying he had invoked his Miranda right to remain silent by remaining silent.

"Thompkins did not say that he wanted to remain silent or that he did not want to talk to police," Kennedy said. "Had he made either of these simple, unambiguous statements, he would have invoked his 'right to cut off questioning.' Here he did neither, so he did not invoke his right to remain silent."

LEARN2KYFMS.
If, after being silent for a while, you decide you would like to confess... No, you cannot take that back. You fucking failed at being silent. Had you remained silent, as you have the right to, or instead of saying something stupid said "I am not going to talk to you." you wouldn't be as fucked as you are now. Nobody seems to be saying your only options are saying "I want to be silent" or answering questions, though that seems to what those against this are arguing? They're saying "If you consider remaining silent to be exercising your right to do so, and then talk, you void that right."

Has it been in the past that by remaining silent the police were not allowed to continue interrogating you?
How much silence was required before you were officially silent and they had to stop asking questions?
It seems reasonable that you have to tell them you are not answering questions, rather than just ignoring them and hoping they get the message.
