heh.

Question for Amerispags:
I haven't followed that story in detail, did that flag actually get forbidden by law, or did it just become politically correct to not sell it?
I'm interested in the exact laws if any that apply to it because banning symbols is a slippery slope that can lead to book banning.
I'm too much of a bibliophile to accept book banning.

How do we stop them from leaving short of marrying them and reverse plantationing them?
I intend to follow them if they try to leave.
I overheard their plans to go to some place called evolvefest.
I'll bring a big rock and hit them over the head with it, then drag them back here.

It needs to be trained on something other than dogs.  It's all dogsdogsdogs.
Maybe dogs were only a small part of its training but the way we have made dogs into all sizes and shapes has made the dog-pattern too broad, combine that with our ability to recognize human faces and the role of dogs in our history and society (dogs are people too!)

The most you could say is that it hasn't seen enough human faces.

Had two interviews this week: One at a child development center at CSULB, the other at Home Depot. Landed the job at Home Depot, still waiting on a call from the Child development center. I'm a little nervous about how i handled that interview, but then again im ALWAYS nervous about how I handled interviews so, yknow, theres that. Looking back, i dont think i stuck TOO big a  foot in my mouth, and i put my friend who works there as a reference, which hopefu8lly is a feather in my cap. Fingers crossed.
Congrats on the job.

Ah, yes, the teenage existential crisis. I had one of those myself, about a year back.

You could try not trying to justify life at all. I really think human life quite insane and completely illogical, but that's the beauty of it. 7 billion little confused creatures floating on a rock asking the same question; "why?" Truth is, happiness and pleasure are actually completely unrelated to life and "the bigger picture", if I can call it that. In fact, life isn't yours at all, not as a birthright or anything. It's a gift that can be easily revoked. Neither is there any meaning to it, besides that we put into it by searching for meaning - which also happens to be ultimately superficial.

And yet, life finds a way. So let it justify itself. That isn't order or a grand plan, that's chaos at its finest - both a big joke and a serious work of art.
Well said.

I read soul and I think Cartesian dualism.
PROTIP: Cartesian dualism is a false dichotomy.
I don't know if your post is more nuanced than that because I am too tired to read heavy stuff like that today.
So I may be completely off base. I have no reason to post this other than I like saying Cartesian dualism. it gives me a happy.

You do NOT want to give explosives to a demolition squid, that sets off the mating dance.
The last mating dance of the demo squid had to be covered up by something called "World War 2".
You didn't really believe in "submarines" did you? People need air! Wake up and smell the "depth charges"!

The elders still speak in hushed tones of those terrible, terrible times. The dance that goes with those stories is so awe-inducing that, looking back at the pale ghost of it that was performed at my adulthood ceremonies, I still shudder. It is said now that Witch Doktor Howl and ECH are the only men left alive who have seen that dance and survived.
for a given value of survived, I mean, one of them thinks he lives in Tucson!
The other has it worse though, he knows he lives in Tucson.

I... do not understand what Google is even trying to do there?

What use does this technology have other than being terrifying?

Wasn't their mission objective 'Don't Be Evil?'
Not since a long time.

Google seems to be trying to create AI. ofcourse it is terrifying, have you ever seen your own subconscious? absolutely terrifying.

NM, Do whatcha like.

Me, I'm keeping my kidneys.
That makes sense, there are warnings about using it in the heat or when you are old.
You are in Tucson, and anything in Tucson is there eternally, so you are infinity years old.
