Think for Yourself, Schmuck! / Re: Redemption
« on: April 23, 2013, 02:50:02 am »
redemption is a squaring up. the damage caused must be equaled by good action. benevolence and sacrifice.
but then i think of the hanged man; redemption through suffering.  what's that worth?
seems a fundamental aspect of ones personality, the relative weight that one assigns to some given amount of benevolent sacrific vs. some given amount of suffering in its own right.
i'm inclined to say that valuing suffering alone as a means of attaining some balance is barbarous, but something deep inside is pretty firmly rooted to that notion, as if at some level, no amount of benevolence and sacrifice would be enough to balance some acts without some suffering involved as well.

cats can be trained, but it's like a monkeys paw.
we trained our old cat to shit in the toilet, but he also picked up the habit of unrolling the entire roll of paper into it when he was done.
and one time my wife was poomping and he didn't want to wait so he climbed into the pants around her ankles and shit in them while looking into her eyes.

also, a GIS for 'i'm full of tinier men' gives the most bizarre results...

haha.
hadn't heard a Tick reference in a long time...

The Tick was and is AWESOME.

coworker of mine saw the tick pin ive got stuck to my cubicle wall and mentioned that his son was watching them and they were pretty funny, so i lent him my Tick Omnibusi.
wish Edlund was still doing them...

only tangentially related, but it's quite a coincidence; this guy goes up to Boston to run the marathon, crossing the finish line moments before the first bomb, then flies back to his home in TX where he was driving on I35 through West, where he was close enough to feel the blast of that explosion!

sweet. :)
my wife and i got Specialized bikes about 6 years ago, and have been very satisfied with them.

aw, man.
it's a damned shame those are NSFW, because that first pile of dicks would make an awesome emote. like, a pile of dicks would be so appropriate so often...

Is calling a guy a dick as bad? Cause I do that a lot.

Negative - men aren't a suppressed minority.

it's just a synecdochic dysphemistic euphemism. no big deal.

(i just wanted to use those words.)

i've seen lots of mockery, and it doesn't seem to slow them down any.  i mean, it's worth it anyways because of the funny pictures to paste on the intarwebs, but i've not seen any evidence of this doing anything but rolling off like water on a duck's back.

i would assume that they think anyone mocking them is their enemy, and mockery from an enemy generally fuels resolve, no?

does it ever cause them to pack up and go home?

Non-Violent Human Wall event to block view of the WBC started on facebook.  700 attendees thus far.

This is also a good tactic.  Mockery should be included, though, it's the only thing they fear.
How's that?
