At least you left the Furries out of it.

Furries have been pretty low key lately, but don't mistake that for them no longer being a threat. They've infiltrated our Schools, our Churches and even politics.

You know there is a probably a huge market out there for lunatic messiahs and control freaks looking for impressionable young disciples. Someone should start something, call it Mansonbook.

Hell, yeah.  Just sub in "reactionary elements" and "good party member" and you're there.

If the reactionary elements were to get re-elected (they won't), we could
kiss our socialist values goodbye. This anti-Proletarian radical would finish his
decimation of our economy and destroy what is left of the country our
forefathers fought so hard to establish. The good news is that there
are still enough good party members who won't let this happen, so we
will stop the destruction with the election on Nov 6. Thanks so much
for your genuine concerns regarding my well-being, but the only
emotional issues I have are those related to the Bourgeois party of
America and people like you who can't see the light.

Fuck me.  I only made 4 edits.

I've been arguing for a long time that the Republicans are the Bolsheviks of capitalism.

Not only their rhetoric, but a lot of their political propaganda and organizing comes straight from guys like Lenin.  Which makes sense, once you have a party which stops treating politics as a bound system between opponents who can reasonably disagree on certain topics and instead as an existential struggle for mastery.  But even so, you'll see a hell of a lot more references to Gamsci and Lenin by Republican strategists than you will by Democrats, and a lot more conscious use of their methods.

That's not the only source of bizarre, totalitarian thinking that seems to motivate the party (ohai Carl Schmitt!) but it's a major one.

Isnt there also a suspicious number of ex-Trotskyites in the party as well?

I finally got over my fear of New52 and picked up the first issue of Red Hood and the Outlaws.

Its contrived the way they seem to be handling the new Batbooks, instead of just restarting it looks like they picked up just before where they left off and just have really streamlined backstories told in exposition. Not exactly starting over, but certainly more accessible.

I think the part I like about this best is this quote:

QuoteGluttonous, slothful, irresponsible and entitled: Today's "poor" are the "rich" Jesus warned us about.

Biblical literalism goes where?  For a fundamentalist, this is terribly inventive, in the same sort of way that, say, Catholicism is.

I liked the misleading disposable income graph chart thing. Because SNAP,  Section 8, school lunch programs, utility bill assistance, Medicaid, and TANF are totally just free moneys that you can use for any old thing.

Dammit, poor people have PHONES. Welfare is out of control.

This was an original K98 from the Third Reich. A piece of history. And someone did this to it.

In regards to Shia LaBleucheeseandbaconsandwich. I have no fucking clue why people like him. Every single thing I have read about him states that he is "an intelligent actor" or something along those lines. I have yet to see him in a good movie. He was in a rear window rip off that was passable and for this people forgive shit like Transformers and Crystal Skull. I can barely remember Disturbia, and that alone should be proof that it wasn't some mind blowing performance cementing his Oscar Magnet status.

Nearly every movie he has been in has been either bad or mediocre and yet people always talk about him like he is our generations Anthony Hopkins and he's just going through a brief low point in his career. That low point IS his career.

Plus he is kind of a douchebag.

QuoteConfirmed: The Director of 'Innocence of Muslims' Is a Schlocky Softcore Porn Director Named Alan Roberts

An Alan Roberts is listed as director on the film's casting calls and call sheets from the summer of 2011, back when it was innocuously called Desert Warriors.. Castmembers and crew told us yesterday that Roberts was brought on by producer "Sam Bacile" aka Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, and he muddled his way through a disorganized three-month shoot.

This is the same Alan Roberts listed in IMDB as the director of a handful of softcore porn movies and other low-budget films, according to acquaintances we spoke to today.

"I am sure it was the same Alan Roberts, as I remember him speaking about this project," said filmmaker David A. Prior, a longtime acquaintance of Roberts, in an email. Roberts is listed as a producer on two of Prior's films, 2008's Zombie Wars and 2007's Lost at War.

"He did work on [Innocence of Muslims]," confirmed a man who was Roberts' business partner in a post-production facility he ran, who asked not to be named.

The backstory behind how Roberts became director of Innocence of Muslims is still unclear, like so many things about the film. We've tried to reach Roberts, but his business associate told us he "turned off his phone" soon after protests broke out over the film and is laying low. But he said Roberts was "non-political" and did not have any apparent anti-Islam feelings. Roberts may have been duped by the film's producer in much the same way as the rest of the cast and crew. They believed they were participating in a period piece about ancient Egypt and had no idea the movie would be edited and dubbed into a piece of Islamophobic propaganda.

So almost no one involved in the making of this film knew what it actually was.
