There is no extreme confidence shown there because it wasn't needed!

I have a hypothesis: The presence of extreme confidence in social displays is a clear indicator that the culture has a lot of negative reinforcement patterns centered around shame.

I think it may be that the level of modern production values (all the little things that "perfect" an image) is incredibly high and quite unattainable without millions to spend and a horde of dedicated specialists. That video was high production for its day, but doable with a small budget and well intoxicated screen talent now.

I agree. Later today I'm going on a random shooting spree downtown. We're going to wear monster makeup and got props.  Should be no trouble as we will start at a local game store that won't mind a little attention.

I hope to take a bunch of action and dialog shots then cobble a simple story together out of them. Another friend with photo editing and graphic design talents will add photo fx and make scenes out of the bits with me. Once arranged I will try to get a simple audio play recorded with simple or onomatopoeia sound fx and hopefully some bgm.

If I can edit it together with just  the right timing I can block out whole scenes and even combat with the talent never being in any undue danger. Also I won't have to use the same voice talent as visual, giving me great flexibility.  I hope for an overall effect much like a hyper comic book. I call the format Stillies as opposed to movies because it's all still images unless I use an effect for something specific.

I have had the idea for many years now and hope to put together my first prototype from tomorrow's shooting.

If I can leverage the current technology available to me I hope to set new standards for the art of storytelling and maybe even create a simplified process that could help with the attainaility.

As for making media more human again I think it's more to do with attitude or spirit. That can be brought back as more real human get into production maybe.

I'm sure I will,  but tend to see stuff like this that's out of my control as a sign to focus elsewhere. Been meaning to get some writing for here done, at least a re intro thread for myself and work on a story recently inspired from here.. Got 8 hrs before I gotta crash for work tomorrow. We'll see what I get out, my whole day just freed up.
