The only reason I haven't read/replied is because my time has been too limited for me to give it the attention it deserves. That said, I've only read one of your installments, and found it excellent. As Kai said, you are one of very few who has come here to discuss philosophy and succeeded in doing it with thoughtful enlightenment rather than pompous exposition. Keep it up, I hope you stick around.

I had three Boont's Ambers tonight. I've been tiring of the overhopped ales driven by Oregon's intense hop-farming industry lately, so it was really nice to drink a dryer, less-hopped ale.

I can't understand the "hates Pilsners" perspective, except that maybe when you live in a warmer climate there are few microbrew pils available as they're more expensive to produce as they're cold brewed. A good Pilsner is so fucking amazing in the summer. I've been loving the Caldera pils... not too sweet, good barley flavor, lightly hopped, and just enough wheat to give it fullness.

I've played guitar for nearly 14 years now, classical guitar for 7+ years, played several parlor concerts for money and gotten good tips. I've also written music and published an album through Jamendo. And while I'm still horribly underqualified, I'll listen.

This is punk no? Punk and metal? It should have me thrashing at the end if it really gets me deeply, but it just makes me feel apathetic, emphasis on pathetic. Because it IS pathetic. The lyrics are far from sublime and the whole thing sound generic. No passion, man, no passion.

Not that someone with my little experience has any right to have an opinion.

A few torrid PM's later, and I'm happy to report that the feelings between Dimo and me are entirely mutual. He's promised me a ring. Hoping for a fall wedding.

This, my friends, is a review I can get behind.

Fuck, the "I'm so impressed with myself because I'm old enough to buy beer" threads are among the most useless and inane ones on the board, and that's saying a lot considering we have threads that were started just to be useless and inane. I mean, there's already a whole thread dedicated to people talking abut what they're drinking; does each individual who reaches legal age need to start their own to make a list of what beers they like?

Hell, at least throw in a review or two, to make it worth reading.

Wow, what a tool. How old do you think I am, anyway? I didn't know there was already a beer thread (didn't look) and honestly, have you tried any of these beers I've listed? They're definitely not kids brews. Get a life. You want a review? You could have just asked. Here.

Saranac High-Peaks Imperial IPA

Wow, what the fuck. I picked these up on a random hunch, and, like a homeless hitch-hiker, It kicked my ass and left me for dead. Seriously, at about 11-and-change percent ABV, these guys provide some serious bang for the buck. But they'll put you back around 9 smack-a-roos a six pack, so these aren't for your casual Friday's kind of drinking. With ten different hops and ten different malts (I am not making that up. This beer is flavoriffic), you'll be tasting these bad boys 'till the next morning (and you'll be passed out by 10 p.m.) if you don't pace yourselves.
