I doubt we truly have free will in a deeper sense of reality, but that the experience of conscious volition is an essential delusion to maintain.

ooh nice!

the streetlight is definitely a lot clearer now. i like the man running away as well.

the small tree in the background should probably be a different shade .. i'd guess darker, but experiment with it.

the "eye" of the head looks quite different now, at first it had a sort of "mindless/drone" kind of look, now it looks sort of determined and .. cool, or something. dunno what effect you're trying to get at though.

8)

The small tree is that color to help balance the heavy visual weight of the right.

The effect should make you feel like you're listening to Madlib's instrumental "Sickfit" off of the Madvillainy album.  In terms of the metaphor, I don't know.  I got stoned one day and was walking down the street and it just hit me.

Net wins.  Enjoy the monitor.

Thanks for the feedback 000.  I agree that the metaphor is vague, but if it's put into the context of the BIP or SBotD, I think it comes together.

I suppose I could work on simplifying the tones, but I imagine printing problems would still come up unless I managed a black and white.

Yes, the eye's are created by the streetlights, and I agree that it doesn't look to great in that version.  I originally made them in color...

Here's what I settled on:

the fact that people hop on board and leave when ever they feel like it

non-committal + ride the hot hand

come and go has appeal when you are talking about 'organizations'

Check.

We do have a chill set-up.

it might, i dunno. i didn't write it.

but .. on a more mockery-inducing note:
i know this forum is all about flyers and everything but with all the publishing houses out there, what are the chances of (and interest in) writing a full-fledged book about this crap and trying to get it published?

Who knows until we've put together a document and pitched it to 'em?  Or finagled an agent into doing so?

And, forget the publishing house.

If we can get powerful people interested we can go straight to the printers on a small batch of booklets.  If we have the money and the correct files, they'll print it.

again:

the differences:

1. the admitted shortcomings
2. the constant checks and balances and self-referential challenges
3. the revolving-door technique
4. relentlessly intellectual pursuit of subversion with a disdain for intellectual pursuits
5. a homage to the law of fives puts any type of 'doctrine' in context
6. variety of styles and creativity leaking out the ass

Clear on everything but the revolving-door technique...

This is fun stuff.

It's humorous to me that such an important subject can be explained so briefly and in such ideal terms.

IAW what the OP says, but to a different tune.  It's not just a social sublety, one must also strive for positions of status to be effective.  Status is the point of societal conventions, and if you do it well you will be well heard by others who esteem you.  Everyone has a voice, but to have the ears and hearts of others is true influential opportunity.  Roger's success here as what we will mostly agree as the MVP on the forums is based not on his ability to act the part alone.  Command some respect from the people you engage.  Be yourself, but be it more than anyone else can.  Be yourself, but be it more than anyone else can, because if you manage that, you've got some respect.  And respect is the key to communication in most situations, and communication is the currency of revolutions.

Yeah, but it's not necessarily the kind of respect you think it is.  Some people want you to kill them.  With ropey exudates.

If you start respecting someone's ability that they're positive they don't have, they'll stop listening to you.  In the same way overinflated egos won't stand for poking holes in their bellows.  Respect is about understanding individual's self concepts accurately, not abiding by a nebulous idea of social convention.  At least in the West.  In collectivist cultures you'll prolly want to flip the script as a general rule.

Speaking of status and whatnot, I might be able to get some investors in on the production of a BIP or SBotD book if we can polish up a cohesive document.  It's getting near presentable, IMO.  Though still a ways off from production.

A question I think we need to ask ourselves is what makes us different from every other bitter dissident?

What makes us more relevant than the anarcho-elitists who regurgitate the last 3 decades of uppity rebel pastiche?

They charge about the equivalent of $17 for a 35 minute train journey, so I am circumventing their fares and leaving pamphlets on the trains. I also got the guy that closed the doors in trouble with his superior, 'cos I'm a vindictive bastard. It's about I can realistically do without ending up a ward of the British Transport Police. :?

Prolly about all you could post on the interwebs anyway...

There are too many strains of Discordianism to say.

According to your criteria, I'd say it has all the symptoms of a postmodern pigmonkey philosophy, more than ideology.

Aha!

Pretty fucking awesome.

Still look like crap when I try to print them, though.

That's because these are low-res for the computer screen, not for printing.  You'll need more than twice the resolution to get a decent print of them.

I'm not going to just hand out high-resolution files of my work for anybody reading this forum to do whatever the fuck they want with.  I don't have the time right now to sue people so I'm not going to put myself in a position where I'd have to do that.

If you have a specific use for them I'd be happy to hook you up with a print file.  PM me.

I'll need to know specifically what you're going to use these for.  Also at what size.

I want as much criticism of the first one (both for sure, but especially the second one) I can get because I'm still developing it.  I definitely can see the PBS face now that you mention it, I'll take that into account.

Just to be clear, I wasn't saying that it was a bad thing.  It's just something that popped into my head when I saw the picture.

Well, it's an association I didn't intend, so I need to work on it.  It's excellent feedback, I appreciate it.
