Not new tech, not even news really [2011] just a new slant on an old problem - the butt ugliness of electricity pylons. This is a pretty cool solution. Nice one Choi Shine.

I already had a crush on Iceland but it just got bigger.

This is beautiful, more large projects should be approached like this.

also yesterday the winners of a contest to find a new design for UK pylons were announced

Some of those are bizarre! I would love to see a different kind of weird pylon in every country.
