Just wondering whether we have any 'Pataphysicians or at least any Alfred Jarry fans here?

Not sure if this has already been said... Even if it has it needs to be heard again -

I've been reading a lot of the poetry in Ratio 3: Media shamans - especially the Ira Cohen pieces.

Good stuff.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but was neoism associated with Stewart Home and his Neoist Alliance?

If so, this may be of some help - https://www.stewarthomesociety.org/neoism/neoass.htm

Rather embarrassingly hadn't thought of that...

Thanks all!

Why bankrupt yourself for a dead tree copy when it is freely available online?

Good question and one that I really should have answered in my initial post. When staring at large blocks of text of a computer screen the text itself becomes blurred which leads to me being unable to read it.
It's quite a dull reason really... I should have quoted John Zerzan or something like that. Even then he's against symbolic culture so my want for a dead tree might be equally as reprehensible as my use of technology.

Principia Discussion / An affordable copy of Zenarchy?
« on: November 28, 2016, 03:13:54 pm »
Hello... I know that there was a Zenarchy based conversation a while ago but I thought I should start a new thread for this. Basically I'm looking for a copy of Zenarchy. The issue is I don't have much money to spend (the horrors of living in a first world capitalist democracy!). I've checked Amazon (both UK and USA) and Ebay (both UK and USA) and the cheapest copy of Zenarchy is 45 dollars (plus the shipping as I'm in the UK). I hoping some of you in the know  may know if or where I could find a cheaper copy. Preferably UK based.
I know it's a long shot but any help would be much appreciated!

This book had a big impact on me. I've actually got it in print.

I liked Thornley's description of how naming the movement was its death.

Love the koans too:

Quote
The Shortest Theological Debate in History

Ho Chi Zen: “What is God like?”

Tom: “Somebody. I don’t care.”

If you like Zenarchy, you may like this http://www.impropaganda.net/1997/kultcha.html

a few snippets of this book made it into Camden Benares (aka the Count of Fives) book "Zen without Zen Masters".. If you like Zenarchy you should check it out.

I recently finished reading Exploits and Opinions of Dr. Faustroll, Pataphysician by Alfred Jarry, which is something I wholeheartedly recommend. I plan on reading Watt by Samuel Beckett next.

To be fair, he lived a pretty long time considering the lifestyle he led.

On the sort of subject of Adam Gorightly, I just received a message from him saying he's working on a project and he hopes to include Kerry Thornley's poem Illuminati Lady in it.

Random people with free internet blogs are always an excellent source of information on history and esoteric subjects.
