Quote from: East Coast Hustlethis is a fucking sweet rant, Roger. I'm almost tempted to go over to MW and read the reactions.

One person called me a Joo hater.

"Billy, when I say that ethics is our number one priority and safety is also our number one priority, you should take that to mean exactly what I said. Also quality. That's our number one priority as well. Don't look at me that way, you're in the corporate world now and this is how it works."

Will we get this one in pamphlet form, too? I live in a fairly liberal city, and would love to start dropping these about.

Talk to the guys with the software.

I have no objection to it, as long as my byline stays in.

Is it a bad thing that seeing this statement brings me an upwelling of pride and warmth to be a voting member of wisconsin?

Nice rant, BTW.
One by one, we break the sheep from their Iron Bar Prisons and expand their imaginations, make them think for themselves. In turn, they break more from their prisons. Eventually, critical mass is reached. Our key word: Resolve. Evangelize with compassion and determination. And realize that there will be few in the beginning. We are hand picking our successors. They are the future of Discordianism. Let us guide our future with intelligence.

I'd love to see the fallout at MW, but I can't stand the sigs over there.

And I thought ours were annoying....

AFK

So you're saying you wouldn't like it if I added an anime fairy riding a unicorn to my sig?

Why do you hate The Kids(tm) ?
Cynicism is a blank check for failure.

you can't believe your ears
you can't believe your friends
you can't believe you're here

Meh.  Point is, it doesn't matter, at least not as much as the erosion of our liberty.

The environment may be important, but it CAN be fixed, but not while these bastards are running the show.

Step 1:  Stop the bleeding.

Step 2:  Fix the other shit.

First of all...what is MW?  Pardon me for being out of touch, but there are far too many websites and only one me.

Second of all, I think I'm offended.  No...wait...I'm not offended, I'm proud.  On second thought, maybe I am offended. Eh, probably not.

I consider myself Liberal. VERY liberal.  Almost but not quite Commie Red Liberal.  Call me Progressive, or whatever, I am very much to the left. And yet, unlike the current trend amongst "liberal" politicians I find myself whole-heartily in favor of the War on Terror and the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan.

However, this doesn't mean  I support Pres. Bush, agree with his reaoning behind the invasion, agree with his strategy for winning it, or the way either party has politicised the whole thing.  Our leaders should be more concerned with what is right, than with what will get them elected or get them the most financial gain.

My philosophy is pretty simple.  We have inalienable rights, which should be garaunteed and respected by all governments.  When governments deny their people these rights, or when other groups try to take these rights away, we should do everything we can to ensure thet those governments are either set on the right path or toppled, and that those other groups are defeated.  When possible we should accomplish all of this without the use of force, but when force is neccessary, we should not shirk away from it.  Shame on those countries or peoples that claim to believe in freedom and human rights who are not willing to sacrifice in order to ensure that others can enjoy them as well.  However, those who claim to fight for others freedom but are really more interested in their own political or financial gain should also be ashamed, if not arrested and thrown in jail.

I think the only thing I disagree on is the importance of the Environmental cause.  But part of the reason it is so important for us to "Stop the Bleeding" is that there may very well come a time when we will be unable to "fix" the environment.  I'd like to stop the bleeding before the damage is irreversable.

Also, the whole fight against the WTO, at least as far as I understand it, is merely a global extension of the fight for real civil rights.  It is a fight against the stripping of those rights from others through repressive financial policies.  It is no less important a fight than the fight against segregation.

However, true freedom from financial repression does not come in the form of handouts and welfare.  Does there need to be a social net to help those who hit a bad patch in the pusuit of life, liberty and happiness? Sure. But more importantly, we can truly help people find freedom and happiness by educating them about how to deal with their money and learn to manage it so that they no longer need that handout or welfare.  We invest far to little in educating our people about financial management because the Credit Card Companies and Debt Collection companies have somehow convinced society that "Debt is good" and is a "tool" to be used for financial gain.  Debt is a curse and no one will be truly free until they get rid of it and we should be helping them learn how to do so, and not helping big business by relaxing consumer protection regulations and making it harder for people to file for bankruptcy.

Check out www.daveramsey.com for more on that particular subject.

Ok, I'm done ranting.  Once I get started on debt, it's hard from me to stop.

BTW, I also liked Dean MORE after he screamed.  It's about time someone had some real passion about politics, even if I don't agree with all of their proposals.  It was refreshing.

Screaming for effect works, IMO, in public addresses.
Not on TV, it doesn't look or sound quite right.

Well, it wasn't a very high quality scream, but at least he tried.

When you do shit like that, you have to go totally berserk, or it just doesn't make the nut.
