Oh, they're so cute when they think everything posted on a board will end up where it "belongs". :D

First, thanks L.  Am looking into Greek numerology more now, though I still say Pythagoros was only slightly less insane then everyone's favourite fascist, Plato.

And Thurenz, the forum where it was posted at does not have a Mysticism forum.  Also, its Discordian (whether Bella likes that fact or not) and so everything non-Discordian = pagan.

Paganism..??
I hate to break to them but Kabbala is not a pagan belief
sure its mysticism... but it comes from judaism - which last i checked is not much of a pagan philosphy

Also, please to note that it was a response to a topic that went on a thread drift.

It's all about context, baby.  Look into it.

Mangrove has actually traced kaballah to ancient greek cultures, if I recall correctly.

Bullshit.

Greeks ---->3000 years ago.

Joos ----> 4000 - 6000 years ago.

And further, I don't need to be Christian to study the New Testament, why do I have to be Jewish to study the Torah?

Show me a "Kabbalist" who actually studies the Torah.
The Jerk On Bike rolled his eyes and tossed the waffle back over his shoulder--before it struck the ground, a stout, disconcertingly monkey-like dog sprang into the air and snatched it, and began to masticate it--literally--for the sound it made was like a homonculus squatting on the floor muttering "masticate masticate masticate".

I'm not sure about the books thesis, but I'm pretty sure the point wasn't that the Greeks were around before the Jews, it's that the first evidence of so-called "kabbalistic" practices, methods and structures shows up in Greece first, and then later turns up in Jewish texts.

But we should really get Mang's opinion.

Through me the way to the city of woe, Through me the way to everlasting pain, Through me the way among the lost.
Justice moved my maker on high.
Divine power made me, Wisdom supreme, and Primal love.
Before me nothing was but things eternal, and eternal I endure.
Abandon all hope, you who enter here.
