Through me the way to the city of woe, Through me the way to everlasting pain, Through me the way among the lost.
Justice moved my maker on high.
Divine power made me, Wisdom supreme, and Primal love.
Before me nothing was but things eternal, and eternal I endure.
Abandon all hope, you who enter here.

Dante

BADGE OF HONOR

The Jerk On Bike rolled his eyes and tossed the waffle back over his shoulder--before it struck the ground, a stout, disconcertingly monkey-like dog sprang into the air and snatched it, and began to masticate it--literally--for the sound it made was like a homonculus squatting on the floor muttering "masticate masticate masticate".

I don't think I'm drunk enough to be amused by this.

If someone tells me they've seen a ghost, I pretty much discount everything they ever say to me again. Ever.

Am I being closed minded, or would you consider a good way of "cutting out the fat", socially speaking?

I'd say that's a pretty good acid test. Conversely if someone was to actually show me a ghost and somehow prove ownership I'd think they were pretty cool and may even consider allowing them to fuck me.

Depends what they saw.  People say they "saw a ghost" and its often those annoying little orb things on Most Haunted, or they caught something out of the corner of their eye.  If they have, for example, poltergeist activity (which actually seems to be linked to adolescence, but often linked with ghosts) or something where there is some evidence, even photos, then I may take them more seriously.

For the record, I don't believe in ghosts.  I think there are a number of as of yet unexplained things going on (architecture, other paranormal activity, hysteria etc) which people label as ghosts.  But I may be wrong and a good empiricist follows the evidence, not their dogma.

Science finds new things out every year. To me it seems there are probably atmospheric variables that are yet fully understood that could be creating these stories
Im open minded though on the subject, I just know too many people that see or experience something they dont understand and they jump to conclusions ie. ghosts, ufos, ect.
