*does NOT feel welcome to Cow Ass...of any variety*

Well, I hope you don't let this guy run you off, Rog, but I totally understand where you're coming from.  This guy's been a real, well, self-fulfilling prophecy, and it sucks his cow ass that you've had to put up with him thus far.

Sigh.

The Good Reverend Roger

Well, this board has no ignore function, and - frankly - I simply don't feel the need to post rants so alt-boy can spam them up.

It's one of two regs, one of which misses the bullshit of 2004/205, or the other, who is obsessed with "revenge", for some reason.

I really don't care which it is.

"Billy, when I say that ethics is our number one priority and safety is also our number one priority, you should take that to mean exactly what I said. Also quality. That's our number one priority as well. Don't look at me that way, you're in the corporate world now and this is how it works."
- TGRR, raising the bar at work.

Wait so...I win!!!!!

Ha, who's the whipping boy now.

Jenne I respect you and whatever expirience you had with Rog, but I thought his idea was stupid and asked for further confirmation. He started the fight and I ended up takin' him down to China town.

P.S.- check my fuckin IP, you cockass bitch fucker .

P.S.S.- Telling me to figure it out for myself and running away is a shitty answer, you offer no suggestions and no solutions. BTW, great fuckin flamewar :-P

Through me the way to the city of woe, Through me the way to everlasting pain, Through me the way among the lost.
Justice moved my maker on high.
Divine power made me, Wisdom supreme, and Primal love.
Before me nothing was but things eternal, and eternal I endure.
Abandon all hope, you who enter here.

But...I think the rant here he wrote was for those who have been with Rog for years...he basically gave them a mission statement built upon rants that came before this.  So for the question you had, the "why/how/from here?" is easily found in all the stuff he presented leading up to this.  He's always revealed everything in his writing, he holds nothing back, pulls no punches.

So, if you are truly interested in following up on what TGRR is all about, just read the archives in this forum.  This very SAME subforum is named FOR Rog...for a good reason.

I know I sound like a suck-up and a sycophant, but I risk that because I 1) believe the man has a lot to say and 2) I tend to enjoy it all.  I'd hate to see him close the book and end it chapter and verse because of this little flamewar...too too sad and fucked up.

I've only read some of his more recent sermons about getting mad and taking back your rights. They could have been inspiring, Sermon 42 even offers a few suggestions that are pretty funny(in a good way.) He also states that extreamism is valid if liberty is limited. These ideas are basically repeated in Sermon 49, along with statements saying prison doesn't matter if you're a slave anyways. He says all these things that build him up as some revloutinary, prophet, whatever, and then his grand scheme to solve all these problems is to run to mexico. Then, as packs up his bags, he tells us all how he beat the system, how he overcame the machine.

Fuck, when the goin' got tough for Ghandi, he didn't pack up and run Australia, he stood up (or rather sat down... sit-ins) and fought. MLK did the same thing. He didn't organize some huge exodus back to Africa like some of the other black leaders at the time wanted, he knew that America was his peoples home, he wanted to change America and he did (yea, I know there's still racist, but it's ALOT better then it was.)

I don't want to turn this thread into an arguement about TGRR and his "solution," but I will if I'm forced to. If he's given anyone of you good adivce or made your life any better, fine, but to me he looks like a hypocritical pussy.

EDIT: Jenne, you're right. He does have alot to say and sometimes it is enjoyable (although IMHO there's far more better material on this site.) But when someone is preaching this shit like it's real and serious, and then goes against it all, and further more attacks me for calling him out on it, I tend to think this person is a raving dumbass.

Hua, you may be right. If he was just joking, then I almost feel stupid, if all his sermons and shit were jokes too, then that's the greatest mindfuck I've ever expirienced.

I'm sorry but I don't read this rant as running away and giving up.  And even if it was, who could blame him.  You can only fight a fight that is impossible to win before you start questioning.  Please to be referring to the obvious example that is in the nightly news.

And besides, deciding to stop being a part of The Machine(tm) or The System(tm) or whatever metaphor you want to use, in a way, is a strike against said entitie(s).  To me, the fact that one can recognize that there is something going on that is mired in futility is huge.  99% of the American race can't even see THAT.  And their blindness perpetuates the whole thing.

No, choosing to stop being a monkey, a puppet, even if it is a rogue puppet, can be a strike against the madness, not a surrender to it.  To surrender is to allow yourself to be taken over by it.  And besides, when you have another that is part of your life, could it perhaps be a bit selfish to continue to drag them into the fire?  Perhaps allowing your family to exist somewhere away from the trappings of all this is a noble thing.  That is, if you value such things.  If not, then please to be giving us your sermons and rantings.

Thats how I read it.  If you want to build a better world, you start by showing people there are alternatives.  If you are not passively helping the CoN then you must be....opposing it.  Gandhi, to extend the metaphor, went out of India and to the UK, where he studied law and, more importantly, studied the British up close.  By getting out, he learnt things that helped for when he went back.  And since the CoN extends over most of society by definition, you have to go out pretty far to come back.

Its harder to make sense of things from the inside.

Also, Rog has a habit of "taking a walk" and seeing the countryside.  I think assuming he's running AWAY from something and not TO something is just a case of not knowing the whole story.  He's not obligated to give his reasons for leaving.  Those who know him well, who were his main intended audience, know that he'll likely return.

He is a man who lives his principles.  I think it's imperative to say that.

East Coast Hustle

I'd like to make a few observations:

1) Cow Ass is not an alt, or if he is, he's remarkably consistent in which proxy server he chooses.

2) regardless of one's personal perspective on Roger's writing (I enjoy it quite a bit, but I don't expect everyone else to), it seems a bit strange that when someone with a differing opinion comes along, we get all clique-ish and close ranks and tell them how obviously wrong they must be. That's not practicing what you preach. Differences of opinion force us to work through why we think the things we do, which is good mental health. Homogenous Discordianism is an oxymoron, and nothing I want any part of.

3) Roger: operating under the premise that Cow Ass is not an alt, what would your response to him be? I understand not wanting to respond to someone who, in essence, just called you a poopy-head, but I think that he was just trying to get your attention, and anyway, since I'm basically about to do the same thing and still haven't personally resolved my feelings on whether or not it's the right thing to do, I'm hoping you'll answer as a favor to me because I'm hoping it will help me achieve my own clarity in these matters.

TIA.

edited to clarify: by "do the same thing", I mean leaving the country, not calling you a poopy-head.

Was the above talking to me?  Cuz I rather doubt I'm in a clique here... ;)  I just have a nasty habit of standing up for those who stand up for me and my ilk.  And I did ask DCA to spelunk before making snap judgments.
