POSSIBILITIES / REALITIES

We are out to break open and dissolve the walls that are built by your fears, your dreams,
your fantasies, and your prejudices. There are always many different points of view, many
different angles which are in constant change, endlessly merging and recombining. To limit
identity to just one point of view is to commit mental fraud. To limit the self to just one
identity is to commit mental fraud. Beliefs are the bricks that the walls of hatred are built
from. A belief is just a pretty cover for a prejudice. In order to escape the trap of
prejudice and preconceptions it becomes necessary to get used to direct perception. In order to
get used to direct perception, it becomes necessary to know exactly how one's perceptions are
informed by various prejudices, beliefs, and notions.

The difference between performance artists and everyone else is that performance artists
know they are performing. The others are just under the twisted delusion that what they are
doing is somehow more a part of the real world. The problem with the concept of the 'real world'
is that no two people ever really agree on just what it means. And some people are even willing
to repress, maim, or kill others in attempts to get them to agree. It is best to just acknowledge
the performance and artistry with which we co-create our lives. This outlook may not be the
total unerring truth but I venture it would be more useful to approach life from this angle.

Let,Äôs see if I can answer some issues:

As long as you're aware of the programming and you are willing to live with it because it makes your life and that of those you care about easier, I really don't see the harm.

The harm comes when you forget the programming is there, or when you consider some of your choices are not based on thought, but on programming.

Once you forget about the bars on your Prison, you start thinking that you know everything there is to know about an experience you had/are having.¬† When you forget to question how it is you ,Äúknow,Äù what you ,Äúknow,Äù is when you lock yourself in tighter, and become part of the Machine,Ñ¢ (which is part of another sermon).

If you know you are in a prison, and you've walked out but revisit from time to time...is it truly a prison anymore?

You cannot walk out.  Escape from one cell is an escape to a different cell.  With practice, some people seem to be able to walk freely from one to another.

I can escape confines because nobody can control the way I choose to use my mind, and where I go when I close my eyes.

Your body is still imprisoned, for one thing, and for another, where does your imagination come from?¬† Your experiences, and the combinations of your experiences.¬† Furthermore, there is no guarantee that the way you ,Äúchoose,Äù to use your mind isn,Äôt subject to some hidden programs you,Äôre not even aware of.

Your senses have you trapped.

Your experiences have you trapped.

Therefore you should question everything both sources tell you.

And this will make you less trapped, but not completely untrapped, just into a different cell.

If not... have you questioned what makes you want to question your senses and/or experiences?

You got it.  The BIP is only the beginning, however.  There is more to come.

And as to your second question, I question my questioning all the time.  What made me begin questioning them was the Barstool Experiment.

1.Has anyone ever been outside?
2.How do we know when we are outside?
3.What is really out there?
4.I love freedom and the ability to think independently and without prebiased prejudice. Have I been doing these things or have I just been deluding myself into believing I have?
5.How can I know?

1. No.
2. We never are.
3. Universe.
4. The latter, for the most part, probably.
5. By analyzing every thought and motion you make.

I think of emerging from the BIP as a sort of a Discordian Nirvana.

Yes, especially considering neither ever happens.

Only thing i'd question is why is it a Black Iron Prison. Seems to be more of a Comfortable Padded Cell to me, and that is part of the problem in escaping it.

"The Comfy Padded Prison" doesn't have the same impact imo. BIP suggests to them it's something bad.

I had one in there but I do not care about credit.  And, actually, if people do enough reading in Or Kill Me, they can probably, pretty easily pick em out.  The writing styles are definitely pretty unique which I think lended to it being so readable.  And remarkable that for as often as we aren't on the same page, in BIP, it sounded like we were all on the same page, and lighting it aflame with kerosene.

Hope I'm not overstating this.

But when discussions happen here, in as sterile an environment as the internet is, you can feel some passion there.

It isn't just "intellectual masterbation" as some would suggest.
