LMNO:
So, in my punk cover band, we've finally decided to try our hand at writing our own stuff.  I thought I'd try to incorporate some BIP material into the lyrics.

Be warned:  This is a first draft.  It kind of sucks.  Any suggestions would be wlecome.

"Black Sheep are Still Sheep"

To all you sleeping
This is a message to all you sleeping
It’s all passing you by
So get off your hands and knees.

You’ve got two feet
So you better fucking use them
And run while you still have legs
Run while you still have legs!

So go ahead,
Try to break away
Try to change your mind
While you still can.
But just remember
As you try and swim upstream
That being a black sheep
Just means you’re still a sheep

It’s a two man con, and you’re the mark
And you can’t even tell what side you’re on

‘Cuz it’s the same side
Always, the same side
So what the fuck are you gonna do about it?

(solo)

Of course you’ve heard it before
And you pretend to listen
And you think you’ve got it all figured out

But it’s all tunnel vision
As you march lock step in line
Being different, just like everybody else.

So go ahead,
Try to break away
Try to change your mind
While you still can.
But just remember
As you try and swim upstream
That being a black sheep
Just means you’re still a sheep

Jenne:
Other than the mixed metaphor of swimming upstream and being a sheep, it's damned good, LMNO.

I wish I knew the tune that went with it...

ETA:  I think my brothers usually do the tunes first THEN the words, I think anyway...yeah, that sounds about right.

LMNO:
Hey, thanks.

I kinda intended the mixed metaphor.  Is it too clunky?

Jenne:
Probably not, just caught me when I was reading it.  I'd bet with music, though, it flows really well.  Again, the music makes the song along wiff the words (so flow the mp3 when you have it, yo! :D ).

Triple Zero:
text is good, it really depends on whether you can get it to flow with the music.
